I have tried to be more aware of what I am spending at the grocery store but the rest of our spending seems to be the same.

We use to go out for breakfast on the weekends but now it's more of a treat than a given.

Weekly Friday night dinners and sushi Sunday are family staples that we are sticking to. We are focusing on supporting the local, independent restaurants we love so they survive the downturn. But I do find myself holding back on larger purchases and luxuries like facials and massages. Also finding myself buying more at Costco and Target. Instead of just looking for staples at these stores, I now find myself buying clothes and housewares that I used to purchase in more specialty mall or department stores.

I have Netflix, so I watch movies at home instead of going to the theater.

I think the recession has definately made me look at the way I am spending my money. My husband are watching what we spend and not buying things we don't need.

Since i'm a mom of two, a 12 and 15 year old, we think it's important to stay home and have dinner as a family. The economic climate has not changed how often we go out. For us, family time is most important.

We really don't do anything to much differently than we have for many years. Now it just seems we are more aware of not being able to do things like going out to eat or other entertainment. Just happy that I had already bought a bunch of movies years ago.

I agree, enough economy surveys! I haven't changed my habits much because I've always been frugal.
