Have you ever purchased a beauty product "as seen on TV?"

Recently we’ve noticed a lot of product reviews on SheSpeaks inspired by beauty products advertised on television. Some of these "as seen on TV" products include "Strap Perfect," the bra strap eliminator, "Bumpits," the hair accessory that gives volume to the crown of the head, and "Smooth Away," the all-over hair remover.

We are curious to know what you think of products advertised on TV in the form of an infomercial. Are they too hard of a sell? Or, do the product demonstrations persuade you to buy? We’d love to hear about the items you’ve bought and if you’ve been satisfied with your purchase!

    I have not purchased an item as seen on TV. I would purchase them directly from a store and use a coupon if applicable.

    I bought the Ped-Egg from the "as seen on TV" section at CVS and I absolutely love it. Other than that I've never bought any as seen on tv items.

    To thebutlerdidit: Dr. Rey Shapewear from Dr. 90210 works fabulously. I highly recomend this product.

    I ordered the Bare Minerals collection after watching an Infomercial. I did do research, one to make sure I was getting the best price for the product, and to make sure that the product was safe. I used Bare Minerals for several years, switched to another product for about 2 years, and am recently back to using them! Absolutely love their products. And now, they have stand alone stores in the malls around me, as well as at ULTA. Sometimes, selling via Infomercial is just the best platform to get them out to the masses.

    I purchased the Walk Fit shoe orthotics. I didn't like them. I tried them but they hurt my arches and heels. The undergarment is either the Kymara or another one that I can't think of at the moment.

    I have purchased a couple of things. Turbo Jam, My knees were and still are bad, so I am not able to do them to the fullest of my ability. Liked it though. Also bought the Walk Fit orthotics. My arches and heels hurt when I wore them.

    I have not purchased any beauty products online, but have looked into other items. After looking at product reviews, I decided I would have been sadly disappointed to waste my money on those products. I do know many women who have purchased several well-known beauty products from infomercials and were very happy with their purchases. I would be more likely to buy something that they have already tried and trusted.

    I am somewhat hesitant towards buying items that are advertised on television, the fake quality of the promoters seems to be what causes me to doubt it the most. If a product is as good as they say, why all the gimmicks and sales pitches? I feel a product should speak for itself and if that can't be done, then it isn't worth the money or the time. Some of the products I have seen seem plausible, so if I am interested I do some research ahead of time and decide when it comes into stores. That way I can see the product first hand and can judge a bit better than from the television and the cheesy salesmen.

    I bought the ped egg and was really impressed with the results. Needless to say many of my family and friends now hove it also.
