Would a woman make a good US President?

We had to ask!  With the campaign for the 44th US President in full swing, we are in the midst of a historic election.  Senator Clinton could very well be the Democratic nominee for President in the 2008 elections.

As a woman, do you think that a woman could be a good US President?  Better than a man?  What do you think that a woman might bring to the table that a man could not?  Please share your thoughts.

Yes (54.7%)

No (12.4%)

Maybe (32.9%)

I would love to see a woman hold the highest office in this country! I think there is still some bias however. I'm curious to see how that might play out in the rest of the primaries.

definitely want to see a woman president, but feel there are still many people in our country who do not like a strong, intelligent female.

I think it would be wonderful to see a woman president, I just wish there were more women running. I don't think I would vote for the one running, only because I don't agree with her on a lot of issues.

I think that a woman president would be a very good choice, but I would need to see some other choices over time. She will need to be very strong so as not to be swayed by the years of male decision making. A woman could present this country in a whole different, better light to the world.

I think a woman would bring a new perspective to the presidency. She could be as good or as bad as any president before her. I don't see this female candidate presently running as winning. She wouldn't get my vote - too many skeletons in her closet. I don't trust her. Show me a woman with the right qualities and convictions and she might just get my vote.

it is definately not a gender matter nor is it race, i feel that as long as the person who will take on that role can provide the best results for a country or its people should be the one to be president

Gender is not relevant when it comes to doing a good job. The only reason gender is even involved is due to societies mantality. All humans have emotions and function in different manners. Gender does not determin you're abilities to function well and due what's best for the masses.

A woman would have unique challenges as Commander-in-Chief, but--as in any other role, she would need to consider her strengths and weaknesses and then ensure that those around her would supplement her weaknesses and build on her strengths. I believe women are AS capable if not MORE so than men due to their abilities to multi task and their innate (proven) intuition. They also often have better social skills which could serve us well in a global community.

well w/ all the men who've been president over the past decade it seems that this country is in worse shape for it! They say that behind every great man is a great woman so why not make a woman president? Afterall maybe a woman can get this country back on track!
