I homeschool my 14 year old. She started high school classes this year and things are more hectic than ever now. We have to shuffle harder studies in, along with music classes, Biology lab and Karate.
BACK TO SCHOOL MY SON JUST STARTED PRESCHOOL AND I'M FREADING THE LATER YEARS IF IT'S STARTING OUT THIS HECTIC. 3 DAYS A WEEK PLUS HELPING OUT 2 DAYS AND THE PARENTS HAVE TO PLANS THE PARTIES OUTING AND WAYS TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE SCHOOL. MY HUSBAND SAYS HE DOESN'T REMEMBER HIS PARENTS DOING THIS MUCH HIS WHOLE 12 YEARS IN SCHOOL..I WENT FROM HAVING A TOLLDER AT HOME TO FEELING LIKE I HAVE A FULL TIME JOB AGAIN...BESIDES ALL THE OTHER AFTER SCHOOL THINGS MY SON GOES TO. I WAS NEVER ONE TO FEED MY SON FAST FOOD BUT NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE DO IT..I FEELLIKE I NOW LIVE OUT OF MY SUV. SCHOOL INVOLVES AS MUCH TIME WITH THE PARENTS AS THE KIDS AND I WOULDN'T MIND HELPING OUT BUT NOW IT'S MANDATORY. MAYBE I'LL SEE MY HUSBAND IN JUNE .
back to school was an excitement for me because my daughter just turned 5 on the 15th so this is our first year dealing with school and thank god she loves it.
back to school make you feel like a new year because you have goals you trying to acheive and in a way it exciting
It is like a new year, because no matter how the kids did last year they can start over fresh .
I don't really notice the transition. Everything just flows as best as it can in this family and I try to not disrupt things too much which is difficult at times being a military family. The easier I can make things on the kids, the better and happier they are. They enjoy the fact that school started again, but it's not a REAL big deal either.
go back to school time is full of dread for me because the schools always send to much homework home and i have to help my kids with it i work full time plus overtime so i have a very busy schedule
sad for me because it's the end of summer fun...exciting to see the boys in a routine...and hectic because of their schedules plus homework that I have to keep up with way more than my parents EVER had to!!
I miss my kids when they aren't at home. When they've left for school it's about Cleaning and what surprises I can do for them during the day. Of course the Occasional Errand is in there also, towards the end of the afternoon I watch just about everyday to see them walking from the bus stop, 1st to make sure they are all there ( with no visible injuries) and secondly to see whether they look bothered, happy or sad. I like to have an idea of maybe how they are feeling when they walk in the door so I can be there for them, anytime for anything.
To me, back to school is a relief - the craziness of the summer is over and we can fall back into a routine. Plus, the autumn is my favorite season...even though I'm as busy as ever, the cooler weather and lovely autumn leaves make me feel more relaxed.
