Not everyone will be doing back to school shopping this August and September, but if you're shopping for school supplies for your kids, where will you be going?
A drug store like Walgreens or CVS (14.7%)
The supermarket (3.6%)
A large chain store like Target or Walmart (87.1%)
A wholesale warehouse like Costco or Sam's Club (5.6%)
None of the above (4.4%)
I stock up every other year or so. We homeschool, so we don't need tons of supplies. I usually hit the sales at Staples or Office Max when things are ridiculously cheap.
Target has been great! I've got several items free so far. Both my kids are alittle young for school but I do alot of crafts with my daughter and use items myself. So, far they've had coupons on their website as well as coupons in the newspaper and items on sale and I've got a pack of pens free, crayons, colored pencils and other items such as erasers, markers, folders, etc really cheap.
Staples has been unbelievable in their sales this year. Penny tablets, free electric pencil sharpeners, free copy paper, ....I could go on and on. Thanks Staples!
i tend to go everywhere. Staples/Office Max for their cheap .1; .5; .20 or .25 cent deals. I also go to Target for their pens/papers (especially combined with a coupon that equals FREE). Honestly though, I shop after school starts for the next year and I have a very good stockpile, so it is bare minimum what I have to buy when school starts the following year....
So far, Walmart was my main stop this school year. Their $.25 deals were amazing! I spent less than $10.00 and, except for a bookbag, fulfilled all the supplies on the list! Though, I am definitely going to try Staples after reading some comments, just to stock up on essentials that may be needed throughout the year.
I shop for school supplies at Wal-Mart but I go to the mall to find the best deals on clothing! This year for back to school I've also decided to join a gym!!
I have to admit that I am a Target/Walmart and discount shopper. I like to get the best value for my money. I also check the adds weekly for the extra percentages off merchandise and even try and get the "free stuff" like BOGO offers.
Walmart has got me hooked this year! They seem to have everything at a great price and with kids ranging from Kindergarten to College....I have a wide variety of needs!
I have always done my shopping for back to school at wal-mart or target because everything is in one place and you don't have to walk around the whole store and their prices are resonable
Target is one stop shopping. I can get all the supplies, clothes, sheets and things for the dorm room all at the same time not to mention the snacks and tolietries.
