What's your favorite way to celebrate Halloween?

Halloween is still over a month away. But you and your kids may already be looking forward to this festive fall holiday. What are some of your favorite ways to celebrate Halloween? Do you make your own costumes? Try new types of candy? Get involved with neighborhood parties or events at your kids’ schools?

    I love the holidays, but no one comes around and trick-or-treats anymore near me. I think parents are afraid to send their kids out and also by the time they get out of work, it's late at night.

    We think Halloween is awesome. We dress up, decorate the house and give out candy.

    I celebrate Halloween by watching scary movies, and eating the chocolate candy bars that we get for the trick or treaters who never come to our to our house, there isn't that many kids in our area, if they are they go where theres alot of sidewalks and houses., more candy for my waist line and sugar high that lasts all week, and I have to hide the extra candy from the my kids too, LOL.

    we decorate for halloween but sometimes it is a little hard to get in the fall spirit when you live in florida and it is still 89 out. The kids start taking their costume off after visiting a couple of houses but it is still great fun!!

    We used to dress up and have a party. Later we just had trick or treaters. Now we live in an area where kids don't trick or treat. I miss it.

    Halloween is our FAVORITE holiday! In fact, last year, our city chose our house as the most decorated/most fun and we made the cover of our local paper! Our kids know that mom is all about Halloween - this year will be the best yet!

    We're a neopagan family so Halloween is perhaps the biggest holiday for us, that and Mayday. We usually attend parties as the season starts, and a large group celebration with other neopagans and wiccan friends. We always cook a turkey - I'm not sure why, lol, it's just something my husband insisted we do 20 years back or so, and the habit stuck, so every year, I'm cooking a turkey. It's good to come in and have it ready. We have it for sandwiches. It's August and we are already working on costumes. We usually win about any contest we can find and enter.

    I'm so glad my daughter still loves to participate in Halloween. She wil be in High school this year and because it's a performing arts school, I'm sure it will be a blast. I also love the decorate the house and watch as many horror movies as I can for the month. I just love the feel in the air.
