Not only is the economy in shambles but everything else that could go wrong seems to be going wrong for us and our extended family.

After 23 years at an Automotive company, due to a work injury I was told they had no work avaliable to accomadate my work restriction. I have been out of work since December 2007. I am having to live on 1/3rd of my salary. It is no easy and my credit is shot.

It would take time for the economy to revive, the govt is doing what it needs to do right now. It would take a bit more to time to gradually build up the consumer confidence....

I feel more stressed but I also know to count our blessings and thank God for the life he provides us. I work PT seasonally and the amount of hours I got this past season was about 1/3 of what I had last year. My husband's co had it's lay offs, but fortunately, he was not one to be laid off. Still remebering that no one is safe from this economy's downfall, I feel stressed that something could happen to us - but try to be positive and know that we can get through anything together if we have faith in each other and believe we can. I know it sounds sappy, but we have to hold on to hope any way we can. Our country was built on hope.

My husband just found out that his company is laying off 300 employees. Thankfully he is not one of them, but his turn could always come up. I only work 1 day a week as a nurse but could always pick up extra hours. That is why I always tell friends that are stay at home mom's also that you always need something to fall back on. You hope you'll never need it but when you do your happy it's there.

We are buying an apartment building and planning to move to a luxury condo. Life is finally going to be good because of this horrible economy.

Everytime you turn on the news these days, there is someone with a different opinion about the state of the economy. Some believe that the economy is looking up, and other doom sayers believe that the worst is yet to come. Frankly, I'm sick of hearing about it. I think the best thing for people to do is to focus on the positive aspects in one's life, otherwise we will make ourselves crazy thinking about every worst case scenario.

I'm definitely more stressed. I'm about to be a senior in college, and I'm just hoping the economic problems change for the better before I have to start looking for work. I have to pay back student loans somehow, and need a good job to do so. Even in college, I'm having money problems, which stresses me out really bad... when I should stress over school more.

My husband is still working even though he has 66 yrs. old. I had to retire on disability due to a stroke and brain tumor. Dr. bills keep coming in, prescription drugs are outrageous, groceries are higher, and the monthly bills keep coming in. Retirement is not what we had dreamed about. So many people are one paycheck away from homelessness. I just feel so many people are like us, working all our lives and facing financial ruin. I hate to sound so pessimistic, but government has to help the middle class. I still am thankful to have a roof over my head and food to eat. So many people are not as fortunate.

I have not 'lost' anything but I am extremely cautious and well aware of everything around me.
