Has the economic downturn had any impact on your weight?

Candy and snack sales are up over the last several months.  We started to wonder if this increase in sales is hitting our waist lines?!  Since the recession began, have you noticed a difference in your eating habits and weight?

Some of us tend to eat more when we’re stressed while others do the opposite and eat less!  Have you noticed a difference in your weight?  We want to know!

I've gained more than 10lbs...I'm going to need a new wardrobe! (18.0%)

I've gained 5-10lbs...I snack a lot for comfort when I'm stressed (26.5%)

I've gained less than 5lbs...just a few comfort-food pounds that I hope to take off soon (10.4%)

I've lost weight...I can't eat when I'm stressed (12.5%)

Nope, no change (32.5%)

Has the economic downturn had any impact on your weight?

It hasn't affected me gaining or losing any weight. Its just totally changed the way I shop. I now shop smarter. Yes I shopped smart before. But now I really watch the way I spend our money

I recently joined a small local gym. I think my weight has stayed steady..which I suppose is better than gaining anything..I joined not just to get in better physical shape, but to also try to get rid of these winter blues...it's not easy living in Maine during the winter, especially if you're not a skiier or snowboarder! I've found that running is a great stress buster, it def. always helps my atittude and out look on things afterwards. It's important for us women to dedicate a few hours a week to better our self esteem!

Has anybody else noticed that the healthy food is so much more expensive than the not so healthy foods. For example some of the freezer meals which are high in fat content only cost $1. And ramen noodles. They are supper cheap and oh so good but the fat content is unreal. I am not sure the economy is why I gained weight but that is what I will blame it on. Why not it gets blamed for everything else. I figure I will loose a little when it gets warmer and I can start walking again. It's just tooooooo cold right now!

I've gained because I am out of work. Being home around food all day was just too tempting. I need to be someplace else so I can plan my meals better. When you are always at home all day seems like one long meal.

Wow! I weight more now, than I ever have! I am starting to walk during my lunch time. I at least know that maybe it is because I am stressed, do not sleep much and probably not eating as well as I should. This has to stop!

I have actually lost 5 pounds..I think everyone is right. If healthy foods coast alot less then we wouldnt have to worrie about over weight.I know that sounds mean but it is true..I see all these comercials about how these skinny ass women loose weight by trying all these diffrent weight products.Well if the crap was cheaper I think alot more people would use it..I think I also lossed the weight is b/c I am so scared to even put any food near my mouth..I have a self esteem problem..So I watch everything...
