Considering the downturn in the economy, are you more likely to buy store brands (such as generic or private label brands)?

We all have our favorite brands.  The ones that no matter what the coupon discount is off that comparable "other" brand, we will still by our favorite.  With the current economic environment, are you more likely to switch from national brands to purchase less expensive store or private label brands?

Do you think the quality is comparable?

No, I will stick with the name brands that I know and trust (0.0%)

Yes, I will purchase more store brands to save money (0.0%)

The same - I won't change my brand preferences because of the economy (0.0%)

I try to save money of course but, if theres a exspensive Brand Name that works well for me, I will continue to use it. I like getting samples so you can see if things do work well for me.

There are very few items that I am brand loyal to. Everything else I usually watch for sales or coupons. I have no problem using store brand items in most cases! I have always been a bit of a thrifty shopper and the economy hasn't had an effect on that for me. I have always shopped this way!

Coupons tend top make the brand names cheaper than generics and I stockpile. I have nothing against store brands, for the most part I buy what is cheapest.

Even with the downturn in the economy, with coupons and a sale, brand names usually come out cheaper than the store brand. I am in central Texas and a lot of the time, the store brands are only a few cents cheaper than a name brand.

I shop at Harris Teeter and I really JUST buy the items that are on sale unless I need a staple item. Last week I bought about 2 weeks worth of food for $60...and from buying things on sale I saved a total of $40. Saves so much money!

You can continue to get name brand items cheap or free by using coupons. You don't have to settle with generic.

There are always sales on the products I like, and I use coupons so I end up buying what I like. I don't like store brands. The colors tend to be for younger girls and women. And the quality isn't as good.

I will buy store brand if it is still cheaper than a national brand after sale and coupons

In most of my experience store brands just aren't as good as national brands, and if no one in my family eats it or the detergent doesn't get my clothes clean, is it really a bargain? I'll stick with the brands we like and just try to watch sales and use more coupons.
