As a mother, it is very difficult for me to see how a she could truly perform her role-as VP and as a mother! I was on the fence before this choice as to whom to vote for, but now am leaning heavier on the Obama side.

I agree with tbwexler. When are people going to realize that Palin is McCains flunkie. She was just brought in to steal votes from the Democratic party. He doesn't know her and neither do we. McCain knows more about Obamas work ethics than Palins. It's insulting to think that we would vote for just any person based on gender or race.

I like that McCain chose Palin because I think that together they make a little bit more of a well-rounded team. His choice has reinforced my decision to vot for him. I also think that it is a little sexist to not vote for McCain/Palin because Palin is a mother. If Palin was a man and a father it wouldn't be an issue. I just don't see that as really fair. I think that plenty of women have proven that they can have a family and a career just like men can.

I'm not McCain's biggest fan, but I really like Palin. I think she makes a much better ticket for the republicans.

I wouldn't be voting for McCain regardless of his running mate but I definitely see his choice as trying to gain the votes of those who wanted Clinton. While McCain claims that Palin has more 'executive' leadership experience (PTA? how does that compare to VP for the entire nation?), I think he would have been better served by choosing someone more well-known.

I would not pick a candidate just because they are female. I hope Palin's speech tonight stops the negative trash talk. I would not vote for her because of the issues (Abortion) and not because of her teenagers problems

Who in their right mind would switch their support from Hillary Clinton to Sarah Palin? If you vote for John McCain just because Sarah Palin is a woman, you're an idiot. Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton are incredibly different on almost every political issue. Also, Sarah Palin is a "family values" candidate who does not talk about birth control with her pregnant teenage daughter, and who cannot supervise her daughter well enough to keep her from drinking alcohol at the age of 17. Do we really want her in charge of the country in the event that John McCain's cancer relapses and renders him useless?

I supported Hillary Clinton but would not vote for McCain just because he put a female on the ticket. I don't agree with her position on numerous issues, nor do I agree with McCain. Any woman who supported Hillary and votes for McCain because he has put a woman on the ticket is a mindless idiot.

I agree with paper1225. I'm not certain how Palin can balance a young family and the entire country. I support McCain and would do so no matter who his running mate was but I have my doubts about Palin.

Love Palin!!! - she's the only one of the 4 that actually has excutive experience. I like what she stands for and what she represents. I like the fact that she would be making decisions from a view point that I can relate to - a mother and an informed, intelligent, strong woman.
