The recession has had many of us pinching our pennies. A dollar has to stretch farther than ever before. With so many watching their budgets, we were curious to hear if you were making any changes to your activities?
Are you staying in more? Are you doing more home entertaining? Please tell us what you think. We want to know!
Staying home more (78.7%)
Going out more (1.5%)
No change (19.8%)
We still go out but we do more of budget eating now and budget shopping. No more of wasteful expenditure. We try to classify everything into two categories need or want. If its a need we buy it, If its a want we postpone the buy.
At first my spouse and I started staying home more to conserve money; however, the more we stayed home, the more I noticed how much stuff was getting done around the house that was getting neglected before. My house is feeling a lot more like a home, and sticking closeby never felt so satisfying!
I still go out somewhat but try to do things that dont cost as much.
I haven't changed my routine, I just try not to waste excesive money. I usually dine out 3/week with 2 or 3 couples and always end up paying the bill. No more!
The cost of gas alone makes a trip too expensive. I wish I could take the family on a vacation, but we simply can't afford it at this time.
I sometimes find free activities to do or have movie night at my house or my sister house
Entertaining ourselves at home more. Even though I got a much less expensive gym membership, the gas and mileage to get there is some thing to reconsider, so I work out at home. Most times we just google the recipes of dishes we like at restaurants and try recreating them at home instead of going out to eat, or just do with out that particular treat. e.g. eating out 1 - 3x a week.
I have really tried to cut back on alot of things. I don't shop as much, as hard as it is sometimes. I started bringing my lunch to work and that saves me some $$$ to use towards other things. :)
My husband and I have been eating at home more to save money.
Have been finding other things to do thats cheaper or finding family things to do at home.
