I strongly believe Universal Healthcare will not be beneficial to this country. It may help a portion of our country's people, but overall, it would be devasting to the healthcare industry

My husband and myself have just lost our home because we could not make the payments on the loan we took out to cover our medical expenses! Now we are staying with our son and his wife and we still don't have enough to pay our insurance and co-payments and to buy our RX's. While we have lost everthing we own just to cover our health costs people from other countries can come over here and receice FREE medical, food stamps, colledge and also get a check from "Uncle Sam" every month too boot! I think the goverment should take care of its own first! After all, we are the ones that have worked and paid in taxes all our lives. The so called goverment needs to wake up and smell the coffee!

I agree with all those who say the plan will not work as proposed. We have moved into a more social governing state but we are still predominantly capitalist. With this said, the proposed plan will be way too expensive, take healthcare away from those who do have good health care and will make it harder for those who need treatment to get it. We have a large population and universal healthcare is just not do-able at this time. INSTEAD, the government should make stricter rules on healthcare regulation and make healthcare more excessible. This will cost less money and will be able to be put to use a lot faster than anything else proposed to date.

It will the benefit might not be obvious immediatly but for the long term it should be the best option. (of course they need to work on the details because so far, it seems that no one knowns how to start it and how to keep it long term without hurting our economy in a way that would really damage us )

It isn't the plan the President or Congress use (they have exempted themselves) and that's what the American people were promised during the election. It'll cost too much and will give too little care. It will give the Federal Government access to your personal information and all of your checking ans savings account information and the right to take money out of your accounts (like the IRS does when it decides you owe them--no chance to verify or make certain they have the right person).

I do not trust that the Obama Administration is being honest with the American people. They are trying to push the bill through without giving the American people a voice. We have the best heathcare in the WORLD!!! The system works for a majority of the people. We do not have to overhaul the entire system for a small percentage of people.

I don't think the Government is qualified to make Medical Decisions for us. Other Countries have a had time with Socialized Medicine, I have relatives in England and it's not good. Why are they in such a rush, that scares me too. I don't want to have a real opinion until I understand the plan and I don't think anyone does.

I dont want the govt, or any insurance determining what type of care I can have and when. As someone who is already on Govt health care via military-I dont think the public would be too happy about the coverage, lack of care that is afforded to dependants and retirees. Something needs to be done, just not rushed into without talking about all options. I hated having active daily asthma attacks for 2 yrs while the Govt tried to rule out any other possiblities to save money from putting me on advair because of cost. Actually recently they tried to put me on allergy med's to reduce cost (as the base doctor said), even though it is documented that I have asthma.
