Spring is well underway and it seems like so many of us like to "brighten" our look after the long and dark winter! So, we were curious, just how many of us actually highlight our hair?
Whether you do it to cover grey, brighten up your own color or to completely change color, we were curious, do you color or highlight your hair? Why?
Yes- I usually do it myself with home hair color products (50.5%)
Yes- I usually go to a salon for a stylist to do (28.5%)
No- I do not color or highlight my hair (11.6%)
Not yet, but I'm thinking about it (9.3%)
I have not colored my own hair since 8th grade glintz. My hair turned orange, and my mother paid to have it corrected. salons since.
My hair is so thick that it is impossible for me to color and highlight it at home. I find it worth the money to go to the salon bc the few times I have done it myself, I look like a zebra and wind up paying more to have it corrected.
I love going to the salon, but it's definitely just a treat since it is a LOT cheaper to do it at home. And since my boyfriend does it for me, it's kind of a bonding time for us (especially since he does a great job!).
I have a good friend do it. She always does a great job. And its nice to have a real friend to talk too
I always go to the salon and get my hair color or highlights. I'm too much of a chicken to try to color it at home.
I've had too many horrible experiences trying to color my hair at home so now I always go to my same stylist.
I'd rather dye my hair at home any day than to go spend on unneeded spending, my talent and know how of dying my own hair gives me just as much experience as a professional who pretty much learned in the same aspect of basics I learned...read the instructions.
i find it much cheaper to color my own hair and i usually get my hair dye at cvs with some great deals so get it pretty cheap:)
I usually dye my hair at home because it's cheaper and takes less time. If I want highlights or something complicated, I'll go to the salon though.
When I was a teenager I used to have my hair highlighted at a neighbors salon...no matter what product she used my hair always seemed damaged. Now that I'm older and 'need' to cover my gray I use store products that are designed for my type of hair and my hair actually seems healthy & strong. Why pay a ton of money for a one-kind-fits-all salon product when you have so many more choices now.
