Recently we’ve noticed a lot of product reviews on SheSpeaks inspired by beauty products advertised on television. Some of these "as seen on TV" products include "Strap Perfect," the bra strap eliminator, "Bumpits," the hair accessory that gives volume to the crown of the head, and "Smooth Away," the all-over hair remover.
We are curious to know what you think of products advertised on TV in the form of an infomercial. Are they too hard of a sell? Or, do the product demonstrations persuade you to buy? We’d love to hear about the items you’ve bought and if you’ve been satisfied with your purchase!
Yes, and I was satisfied with my purchase (34.4%)
Yes, and I was disappointed in my purchase (26.0%)
No, but I would consider it (30.2%)
No, I don't trust products advertised on TV (9.3%)
I got the original Smooth Away in Europe, called Smoooooooooooo(there's a lot of o's!)ooooooth Legs and I tried it once I got it back to the hotel. Ouch! It's most indeed NOT painless! It scrapes away your hair, sure, but also the top layer of skin. The hair grows back even faster than before despite what the ad says. I'll never use THAT again!
a friend of mine purchased bumpits, had to return them because she couldn't get them to hold in her hair even with a million bobby pins and hair products
i order the product bumpit i love it .
no i have not
I purchased foundation from Bare Escentuals and i broke out terribly and I was using another mineral line and that never broke me up.. there is always this hype about Bare Escentuals but to me its not all that.. it really did not work for me...
I have been disappointed too many times from items I ordered on TV. When you call they want to sell you things you don't want.
I have been considering Smooth Away..I see some of you girls have tried and liked it, so I may give it a try!
It's kinda hard to not buy some thing on tv after you have spent over 30mins watching and listening to them talk about how wonderful there product is. I've had a bad experience in the past so I always do my research now.
I haven't bought beauty products on tv, but I bought arch supports once and I don't regret it. I still use them today and they are one of the best investments I've made! They came with interchangeable arches and they are really comfortable. I would definately buy beauty products if they seem like they really do work. One that I have seen that I would like to try is the Philosophy line.
Walmart has undergarment by cupid that is supposed to give you firm support and get rid of panty lines and bulges but beware get a size larger than you normally wear or you'll still have rolls and bulges.
