Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Will this be another holiday where our shrinking wallets speak?! Are you planning to celebrate? Will you be spending less this year?

Nothing. I never buy gifts for Valentines Day. (16.7%)
We are going out to eat with the kids. That's the best valentines gift being able to spend the day with all my "valentines".
I don't really beleive in valentine's day. I do make a nice dinner, and get something little for the kids. My husband usually brings home chocolates in heart boxes, but that's it
Who has the extra cash? I am saving every penny possible.
It would be nice to have a night alone but we will take the kids with us to dinner. I guess we'll exchange gifts (something small) and watch a movie at home (of course with some theater popcorn)!
Over the past 6 months, we have been really trying to get back to basics. At Christmas, my 5 year old daughter and I made presents for all our family members. We had fun, spent less money and they loved them! We are planning on doing the same for Valentine's Day.
My husband and I do not celebrate Valentine's Day. It is a sad day for my husband. His father passed away that day so we don't celebrate it. I am ok with this because he shows me love everyother day so I don't need candy and cards.
I make a bigger deal of Valentine's Day than Christmas, including homemade cards, candy gifts for my cute, little brother-in-laws, decorations for our house, lots of baked goods, and intimate things for my husband. My 2 year old is having a blast helping me this year. Everything has gooey fingerprints on it, but it is so much fun!
This year my husband and I decided to buy each other 6 packs of baseball tickets. It will give us about 1 date a month until around October. We are big fans our local team. What a better way to say I love you than to spend time together sharing something you both are into???
My boyfriend and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. I've never been a fan of the holiday, why spend extra money on one occasion to express your love and affection when it is something you should do everyday. I believe it's just a Hallmark holiday set out to make us think we need to go out and spend money we most likely don't have. I think sporadic little gifts throughout the year mean more than a dozen red roses on a fake holiday.
We typically get a sitter and go out for a really nice dinner.
