I am really not very internet savvy but I use these sites all the time to share photos (Ringo & Flickr) and keep in touch. I insist that my family keep a profile somewhere usually they choose facebook or linkd in so that I can keep up with where they live and what they do!
I don't have many new friends from using these sites but maybe I'm not using it correctly?
It's funny to see that most people chose "keep in touch with current friends." You hear that people are using social network sites to meet new people, but most are just extending their current friendships online.
I would say more than even keeping in touch with friends I already have, it's about finding friends that I have lost touch with! People I took dance classes with when I was a little one, friends I went to summer camp with, old high school buddies - you name it! The people I come in contact with everyday don't NEED my online time, it's the ones that are too far away in space or time that it is nice to reconnect with :)
I AM 5 FT 5 A LITTLE PLUMP AS MY HUSBAND CALL IT.I TRY TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF.
I exercise almost every day. but not always do all of my exercises. I do enjoy walking fast each day. I have exercised most days of my life. I am 62 now very flexible and in pretty good shape.
Nowadays I just use my blog (LiveJournal) and social networking profiles to keep up with friends I already know. But--a LOT of those friends (especially on LJ) are people I met online within the past 3 years!
I like to keep in touch freinds mean so much after blood family they are also family.
I really love making new connections in my life because I like to enrich the scope of my world. I feel that the more connections we have in life, the richer we become. For it is through connecting and sharing, by inquiry and acceptance, and by learning and openness, that we truly grow in our human experience. In each connection is the possibility of friendship and in each friendship is the possibility of "best" friends. And to me, best friends are an extension of my family. I love the way the internet and social networking sites can expand and enrich my world!
WELL I TRY KEEP IN TOUCH WITH OLD AND NEW FRIENDS ALL I CAN. WITH BUSY SCHEDULES, KIDS AND SOMETIMES SICKNESS, WE LOSE TOUCH. I TRY MAKE SOMEONE DAY BY A SURPRISE CALL,LETTING KNOW I CARE AND WILL ALWAYS KEEP THEM IN PRAYER.
I like to meet people in person so you get a true idea of who they are. Using the internet to look for a job gives you access to more opportunities.
