Well I work at a University, so even though I am not a student myself, back-to-school really does mean back-to-school. There are new students, tons of meetings, and new developments that always come with the busy new fall semester.
Getting my little ones used to routine again after having a routineless summer is hard, even for me too. We are excited about what the new school year holds but it's challenging to get back into it again.
We homeschool, so we do a little "school" throughout the summer. In the fall, we start in full-swing again. It is a bit more of a routine once school is in full session. There isn't much time for errands now.
We start getting ready for back to school about two weeks before it starts. The kids complain about bedtime, and getting up earlier, but they adjust pretty quickly. My husband is a teacher, so not only do I have to get the kids ready, I also get to help him set up a classroom and plan lessons. It's pretty hectic for the first few weeks, but I get a few hours of peace and quiet every day.
Back to school is the start of a new season - Fall....that means new clothes!!
This is my daughter first year in school. I was both happy and sad to see her off the first day. She is having a blast, learning new things and meeting new people everyday. I consider this school year a fresh start.
Soccer practice, cross country practice, football games, drama club, yearbook.... ahhhh Mom's Taxi Service is back in operation!!
My 13 year old daughter loves school and we love going shopping together so back to school is no problem for us. We just seem to roll in at back to school time and roll back out for vacation!
my kids are young enough that they LOVE school, but each new school year means they're growing up :(
getting 5 kids ready for back to school can be a real challenge, not to mention being mentally and financially draining,,first theres the limitless supply of clothes and paper,,pens and pencils,,shoes,,bookbags and erasers i have to buy...then comes the school meetings and the getting up 2 hours earlier,,which totally drains the energy right out of me..i hate to see the first day of school come around because i know it creates even more work for me during the week,,but never the less,,theres just somehting about seeing your babies all dressed up in there new clothes wearing there new shoes as they nervously walk into the school building on that first day of school,,and as they turn to give you that last wave,,they walk thru those dreaded doors with there head held high and you realize,,there another year older and you have even less of these times to remember with them,,so you smile and thank the lord for the memories hes creating for you everyday.
