The best thing a teacher ever taught me was confidence.
Confidence is key. It doesn't matter what you learn at school, you need have the presence to attest to it .
Defiance!
I wish the best for teachers. I have countless teacher friends and family who work tirelessly. The system demands so much of teachers these days, and it's discouraging to see parents disparage and demand even more of teachers. Many parents place too much importance on small awards or grades or want teachers to make concessions for their children. I think parents do disservice to their kids when they try to overrule a teacher's expertise and try to get answers to tests ahead of time (yes, that just happened). Most teachers I know want the BEST for the kids .. not the other way around. Let's stop mollycoddling the kids .. they CAN do it if the parents butt out.
My senior year of high school I worked 2 jobs and I was still going to my classes. I had a teacher tell me I have all my life to work.I need to focus on graduating and enjoying my last year of high school.
My teacher Kathy Brandt in the 5th grade called my parents to tell them I was being bullied. She taught me back then (I am 55 yrs now) bullying is unacceptable & we won't stand for it. My parents changed my school, and then I excelled. If I could find her now, I would love to thank her for the amazing gift she gave me!
a love of reading and learning...gifts that last a lifetime and keep on giving
Not to give up that's the best advice I received from my teacher
I learned how to stand up for myself.
My science teacher in 9th grade led me to do what I do.
