There is so much in the news about a company’s reputation. Does a company’s reputation impact your decision to buy a brand? We’d like to hear your thoughts!
The company's responsibility and trustworthiness is one of my top priorities (34.5%)
It sometimes impacts my purchase, but it's not a top priority (50.2%)
I don't think about it much - other criteria are much more important to me when shopping (15.3%)
That depends. If I already purchase the brand, or hear something about a particular company before purchasing the brand, I may not purchase it. It also depends on what in particular was said about the company. If a cleaning company that claimed to be completely Organic and earth friendly was found to be dumping oil into public waters, I probably wouldn't purchase their brands anymore! I do believe that customer service and customer satisfaction play a huge roll in how a company is viewed. Being able to properly, and quickly, take care of consumer complaints is a must for me!
I would reconsider purchasing a product if I found out that the company was doing unethical things.
Yes it does. If you own a company it is your responsibility to keep your companies name on a clean track record. It shows the public that you care about your business in turn you care about the public. I feel ...if the company cares about their reputation they care about their consumers. thus a successful business.
I recall the tylenol scare with tainted tablets back in the 1980's. It was narrowed down to a couple of bottles from a disgruntled employee but Johnson & Johnson made the decision to pull all bottles off the shelves. Their thinking was that if one more person were to die from the poison laced product it would be irresponsible of them to have ignored the possibility it could happen again. It cost the company millions of dollars even back then. When I see that type of dedicated responsibility from a very large organization I believe I am able to trust their products. Today we are inundated with advertisments from all sorts of products with claims of changing our lives! Who should we trust?
If the company has a bad reputation.....then I would not buy the product no matter the price...I want to know that the product they put out has been properly put through it's check list...that they arent selling a bad product.
I definitely think twice before purchasing a product that has a past. Especially if the issue was not handled accordingly.
Yes, there are so many recalls and different things that go on these days you need a company that will stand behind their products. Resposiblity and trustworthiness mean alot.
Sometimes I just need the product at the price it is offered. But if everything is equal or just a little more expensive I will go with the better company. annski
If the company have had many recalls I would buy the product that I feel safe to buy. Also if the company have manufactured the products in the same locations and did not change the product any which way I would also stay with the same product. I also would try a new product because the new product maybe something that I would enjoy to use or eat.
Being trustworthy is very important to me in a company especially when i'm eating their foods, using their beauty products & etc...
