I intend to get my family things they need and things they can cut expenses with as my son-in-law is to be out of work at the holidays.

I think with the economy being as it is, practical gifts are best this year. Items that can be used, not put away and forgotten.

I like to give things that I know will be used instead of "that gift" that ends up in the closet until they are forced to bring it out when you visit so you think they liked it.

My two children are in their mid and late 20s. Technology and clothes are very popular with them, and things I know they will use and enjoy.

This year I'll be buying a number of beauty delux sample kits (makeup, moisturizers, etc.). My mom and sisters will get the chance to try new products and figure out which products work for them. Moreover, it will help them decide what products are worth spending money on. I hope they enjoy their gifts! I don't what I'll be getting for my dad or my brothers yet.

My kids are young but are into electronic games and I plan on giving them the most educational type electronic toys/games I can find. Plus with several young kids, clothes are a must on the gift list. For family members this year, I'll be giving purses (Vera Bradley type) and filling with body lotions, and make-up. I feel like when giving a gift, i want to give something they will use and enjoy using.
