Discount retailers like WalMart and Target guarantee good prices for back-to school. Drugstores like CVS also have good prices for school supplies. Then for clothes, I use the usual sources like flyers I get at home and emails from companies with good online deals.

I agree. The ads in newspapers are always the best way to go. Some of the deals are amazing. I am under the gun this year. I have to finish this weel.

All I can say is make sure you know your prices. Sometimes the buy one get one free aren't such a good deal. For instance, the cheapest I have found one subject notebooks this year is 15 cents (last year I got them for 5 cents) but many of the buy one get one frees cost 50 cents and up. Also, check the clearance racks, if you get the amount you must absolutely have first (on sale of course) and then buy the rest after everyone is back in school you will frequently get some great deals. This especially works for the extras that you might also need next year like backpacks & lunchpacks (Walmart - $5-10 in Sept/Oct) or pencil sharpeners, pens, pencils (CVS clearance rack, Staples clearance rack). Good luck!

I shop throughtout the year and stockpile. I buy great sales and then don't feel the pressure to buy at school time when often the prices are not the best

I agree with the majority! Clipping coupons is the way to go for a good amount of the things I purchase. Clothing and other non coupon items I shop clearance and sales for. But you can usually find a good % or $/$ coupon even for those sales!
