How much money are you spending compared to 1-2 months ago?

The economy seems to be showing glimmers of recovery.  On the other hand, many of us are out of work or know others who are.  So, we were curious, how are you feeling about spending your money over the last 1-2 months?

Please tell us what you think.  We want to know!

I'm spending more (15.8%)

I'm spending the same (33.3%)

I'm spending less (50.9%)

I have been unable to find full time employment, which means my husband and I do not have any extra income. We squeeze every penny out of our paychecks!

I used to go out with my friends and eat places but I finally just told them that I'm running out of money to go out and do things so I've been cutting back.

Since the market has come back and confidence is up, I would say that I'm not as scared to spend as I was 1-2 months ago.

I lost my job and we've been struggling just to keep up with all the bills. It's been the same over the last 1-2 mos.

My husband and I have always enjoyed a worryfree spending life together. We lived in a nice apartment community and both have decent jobs. But, we decided to take the leap and purchase a home (not more than we can handle!). We now put most of our money into the home to update it to what we would like. Now all the extra spending money we had to get whatever we wanted whenever we wanted is tied up in fixing our home let alone the extra utilities, appliances, etc. It has been a year this month since we first bought the fixer upper and we are now taking our budget seriously. Going from $200 a week in groceries for two people to $60 a week, clothes only four times a year, less on gifting, etc. is beginning to make a difference in the amount we are now able to save! It's hard but, incase something happens, we at least will be a little prepared.

I got laid off about a month ago. I still have my part time job but money is tight at our house. We are spending less money and trying to save what we can.

I need a job, and frankly speaking without a job I have to spend less.
