Have you started to buy holiday gifts in order to take advantage of current pre-holiday sales?

You may have noticed that retailers like Sears and Kmart have put holiday shopping displays up early this year?  They are hoping to get a jump on holiday sales by enticing consumers with sales well in advance of the holiday shopping season.

Would you start buying holiday gifts early because of a sale?  Or do you find this early push for the holidays annoying?

Please tell us what you think. We want to know!

I buy items that I think will interest my sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren throughout the year. I put more expensive items that they have specifically asked for on layaway during the late summer so that these are paid for and out of the way before the holidays. By doing this I am not in a rush or short of money during the holidays in case something special comes up.

I am buying a little at a time this year so that I dont have to worry about the money all at once. That takes the stress off of me. The only obstacle is keeping them hidden from the kids. (Hint: the attic works great!)

I have always shopped for Christmas all year round, it is such fun! You don't have to find so much money in one go, it is so spread out, you hardly notice it leaving! It makes every shop exciting if I find a little this or that for somebody on my list.

I think it's silly to wait until the holidays are upon us to stress out about what to buy and end up just buying stuff because you feel like you have to. I prefer to put a lot of thought into my gift-giving so I shop year-round. That way, I feel like I have given each gift and each recipient the proper amount of thought. :)

I feel those that shop too early always end up settling for less. The items that they usually put on sale way before the holidays are leftovers. The good products start to come out at least one month prior. Waiting like a week before holidays is a social suicide, you will either find nothing or the items that are destroyed and rugged. Just a thought.

Why would anyone pay full price for anything? The key is finding quality merchandise at a discounted price--that way, you know you are getting your money's worth.
