Has the economic downturn had any impact on your weight?

Candy and snack sales are up over the last several months.  We started to wonder if this increase in sales is hitting our waist lines?!  Since the recession began, have you noticed a difference in your eating habits and weight?

Some of us tend to eat more when we’re stressed while others do the opposite and eat less!  Have you noticed a difference in your weight?  We want to know!

I've gained more than 10lbs...I'm going to need a new wardrobe! (18.0%)

I've gained 5-10lbs...I snack a lot for comfort when I'm stressed (26.5%)

I've gained less than 5lbs...just a few comfort-food pounds that I hope to take off soon (10.4%)

I've lost weight...I can't eat when I'm stressed (12.5%)

Nope, no change (32.5%)

OMG! I was just talking with my girlfriends about this the other day! I think I've gained at least 5 pounds since the recession started. I cut out my gym membership and have started to eat more "comfort" foods. I'm not looking forward to the start of summer in a few short months! My goal is to lose the extra poundage by then.

I have lost weight, about 35 pounds or so. I can see that there are alot of others that have lost pounds as well.

Sad to say but I gained about 15 pounds.Partly because of eating comfort foods and partly because of my thyroid and hormonal problems, shhhheshhh.Yes ,I have to watch what I eat more.

I have gained the weight because of the cost of food. When I go to the grocery store and a prepackaged meal filled with preservatives can feed my family for 5 bucks verses the fresh meats, dairy and produce that would cost me close to $10 for one meal, I have to take the cheaper. If healthy food cost less, especially less than its sugary counterparts, I don't think any of us would worry about our waistline or or wallets. The better choices would be obvious and cheaper

Luckily, I am still working, even though my husband has been laid off. We have been trying to eat more healthy foods, but he is losing weight while I stay the same!

I've gained weight from eating alot of fast food, its getting to where its almost cheaper to grab a hamburger & fries at mcdonalds than making a meal at home.

I would like to eat healthier, but it is truly less expensive to use the drive-thru dollar menu lately!

I am still the same. I haven't changed what I eat. Plus, I am in the gym 5 days a week. I actually feel great.
