An exceptional movie, really gives you kind of an inside look to what the slaves went through. I have watched it at least 5 times. I like the message that she gives the little girl daily, helping to build her self esteem and confidence.

I was nervous to watch this movie at first. The reviews were great but a few reviews had said it was heartbreaking. I laughed, I cried and I felt emotions I havent felt from movies before. It was a great story and so honest and real.

My daughter bought me the book for my birthday and after reading it I couldn't wait for the movie to come out. I am so happy I was able to enjoy both, the book and the movie. The movie stayed very close to the story line and showed what it must have been like for those that were less fortunate. It showed the cultural differences of the whites and blacks of that era. I would like to see the movie again

I wish there were more stars to select because I absolutely love this movie! It is an inspiration for standing up for what is right. People can and should support each other. This movie will make you laugh out loud and some of the antics that happen in this southern town where some people deserve what they get. It will also make you cry because you feel for the characters like you know them especially if you have known someone who has been discriminated against. If you haven't bought it, it is well worth the purchase to watch over and over.
