I used Aveda Naturally Straight a couple of different ways. First as instructed and blew dry my hair with a brush. I like the look, not as flat as a straight iron, but I liked it...no frizz! And my hair just felt healthy, hydrated. Next I used the product, without blow drying my hair and went to sleep. Still had the healthy/hydrated feeling, not too heavy, no frizz, but needed the flat iron. Flatter results if you follow the directions. Pleasant scent. Something I would continue using...whether I blow dry immediately after or not. I like it.

Ok. So as a straightening product, this didn't live up to it's claims. Nope. Not even with flat ironing and a blow out. But it's still getting a five star rating and a "must buy" recommendation from me. Why? I have naturally curly hair. But beyond that my hair is also naturally kinky and naturally coily. All at the same time. In other words, it's a hot mess and at times "It's alive!!!!" scary. This product smells good, of course. It's got a great consistency going on. It looks heavy and greasy looking until it starts drying at which point it feels and looks sort of waxy. But once it's dried, it's weightless. This actually boosted the volume of my hair and made it shine like cut glass. It did loosen my natural curl, though it didn't totally crush it. Even after five uses and blow outs and flat ironing, I'd say the best I got out of it was naturally wavy. Think more like loose beachy waves if I used the flat iron on it. And it stayed and didn't curl back up when it got wet in the rain. So, major points on that front. Then there was the natural kink front... It completely and totally stamped out every trace of the natural kink from my hair. Poof. Gone. From the first use, I might add. For those curlies who aren't so cursed (or blessed depending on how you look at it), natural kink is having a Z shaped curl pattern, like crimped hair has. Most ethnic hair has a very pronounced kink Z pattern. Yep. This works on kinky hair. It pulls it right out. This one feature alone makes it a Must Have holy grail product for me and others like me. On the coily front, it didn't work. It actually had the opposite effect. It boosted the coily properties of my hair. To be fair, it boosted it in a VERY good way. If I let my hair air dry naturally, the natural coil takes over and runs wild. I get big, fat, shiny, fluffy, Shirley Temple curls hanging perfectly where they should. I can actually use this and have wash and go hair. So, while it did fail miserably on that front, it failed in a really wonderful kind of way. And, to be absolutely fair, a quick session with the flat iron pulled all of the coil out until it either got washed again or got wet. Overall, I didn't see any difference with high or low humidity. It performed well in both situations. I had zero frizz. I had tons of volume. And, finally, it did make my hair super easy to style. All said and done, this gets a five star rating from me and a very adamant recommendation for anyone with hair like mine. It's a major game changer.

My opinion of this product is that it's good. I'm giving it 4 stars. I liked that it contains better ingredients in that there is no harsh chemicals. It did reduce my frizz a lot and I do have very frizzy crazy hair! A definite change was that it made my hair glossy and healthy looking. It normally looks very dry. Now what I didn't like and took 1 star away is the smell. I found it a little unpleasant. As well, I was expecting my hair to be very straight while using this product. However, it did not keep my hair straight after multiple use. I would say it's not for everyone. It all depends on what your expectations are and the end results desired. I did not achieve the very straight look I was hoping for but got a healthier version of my hair.

Although this is not my favorite hair styling product, it does what it promises. I used it on damp hair and blew it dry. Without much help from my straightener it left my hair very straight. The product states that with continued use it will work even better. I only had to use it a few times for it to get my hair straight. Works well.

Overall, I liked it. Nice smell and keeps the frizz under control. But definitely doesn't last for 3 days.

I am 75 to 80 % on the happy bus with Aveda Naturally straight. It is lighter than any other product I have tried which means it is healthier for my hair because I can wash it every other day as opposed to every day and drying it out. It smells great and is pretty cost effective because I use so little with every application. It does straighten out my hair, saving me from super curls and blow drying or other styling. My only issue is that instead of fuzziness and curls, I get way more body than I can handle. That is fine when I plan on pinning it back or wearing a ponytail, but an issue when I leave it down and look like a lion with tons of hair framing my face. This wouldn't be an issue if someone has fine or thin hair, in fact this would be a huge bonus for them, but I doubt they would think of using a product like this in the first place because of their lankiness. Speaking of, that makes me think I should get my roommate, who has baby fine hair, to try it. I bet it would finally give her some volume.

I received a complimentary product of Aveda Naturally Straight. I tried using it with my wavy hair and the product does work on straightening them out, however I didn't like how it it made my hair feel after using this product. My hair felt greasy and weighted down. The only thing that I really like is the scent of this product.

I noticed that if I used the blow drier I still had to do as much work to straighten my hair and it was still frizzy. When I let my hair air dry I did feel like my hair was less frizzy. Overall I would continue to use it to decrease frizziness.

I like it more than I don't like it! There are a few things I'd change, but overall, it seems to be working for me so I think I'd repurchase. It may take me using the whole bottle to decide. First, let me tell you about my hair. It's just slightly wavy so that I have to dry it every day because I can't get enough curl to go naturally curly but there's just enough wave to look straggly. So I end up drying it straight every day. Here's my take: My first couple of times using it, I really didn't like the scent. I was expecting the awesome signature Aveda scent and it wasn't there. Too sweet for me. But it was only noticeable while applying and I didn't smell it on my hair after. I've gotten more used to it and it's fine. I also wasn't quite sure if this should be a substitute for my normal styling cream or used in addition to it. I only tried it in addition to the styling cream (Rusk Wired) and it seems to be working well that way. Not sure what would happen if I stop using my other product. But now to the good stuff. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and I do notice my hair looking straighter and longer all day. It's helping me not have such a Jennifer Aniston Friends look which is how my layers sometimes turned out by the end of the day before using this stuff. It doesn't help my hair dry faster and it didn't seem to make any difference when air drying but since I'm used to using the hair dryer every day anyway, that's not a big deal. So overall, I'm a fan! Not a huge life changer, but enough of a difference that I'll go for it.

After using this aveda smooth infusions , I figured thT it's not that great for styling. Boh my flat irons had a lot of smoke coming out of them when I put this on my hair and tried to straiten !! I loved the smell of it though and it also helps with frizz .

I really like this product! Its smells nice and keeps my hair nice and smooth. I have long, color-treated hair and blow dry my hair every morning. I did not notice that my drying time was reduced by using it, but it has kept my frizz down. I would buy it again.

I love the smell of this product. I have been using it for a few weeks and have not noticed any lasting difference in the amount of curl in my hair. If I use the product and then blow dry, my hair still is wavy/curly, but no frizz.. To get straight hair, I still need to use a straightener. If I use the product and let my hair air dry, the curl is definitely there, but much less frizz then normal. I can tell that it is on my hair, but does not weigh my hair down. For the scent alone I'd buy it again, but do appreciate how it does seem to tame my hair

Thank you for letting me try Aveda Naturally Straight. I have thick, wavy, course hair. This product worked pretty well for my hair type, but was not perfect. It did help me reduce the time it took for me to flat iron my hair as it took some of the curl out of it. I did not notice any difference in the drying time. I also didn't like how I could feel the product on my hair and I didn't really like the smell. Overall, I would continue to use this product because it did help with the most important issue - straighten out some of my natural wave. I have not found another product like this out there so I am happy with the results.

I used this product thinking that I'll save time with straightening my hair but didn't work with air dry, it helps with the frizz and the wave a bit but doesn't completely eliminate them.
