I've been using my Instyler for 2 years now and it works great for my thick hair which is straight to wavy. If you're looking to test out the Instyler for a long period of time, I would recommend buying it from QVC which recently started their holiday return policy. Any purchases made through 12/31, can be returned for any reason through 1/31 which gives you months to try it out.

I have a hard time using this product. Maybe I'm not coordinated enough. For the price I was disappointed.

Not what I expected. My friend purchased this product and ended up giving it to me. She had really thick curly hair, and even with a hot tool prep base on her hair, it would not straighten with out the bulky, frizzed-out, dried, and tired look. She thought it may just be her hair style that prevented the performance, so it was given to me. I actually own a cheap $20 hair straightener, that works every well with my hot tool hair base, but this product did worse than my cheap iron. Now I do not have coarse or curly hair, I would say it's between straight and wavy. It took me an extra hour to get my desired look and I was constantly afraid my hair would get caught in the roll. Long story short, this ended up being more useful in the trash.

I don't use it, which is a shame for what it cost! It polishes my hair nicely, makes it soft and doesn't burn it but ... it doesn't straighten it either ... I get better results from my 30.00 hot shots hair dryer with the hair comb attachment or my titanium hot shots flat iron ... and both take much less time and both cost way less then this. but I also have thick hair with stubborn curls/waves so maybe that played a part ...

At first this product seemed good...not the best, but good enough for my curly hair...but after a year, it works when it wants to, it likes shutting itself off all the time. I wouldnt get another one for the price they are.

This works really nicely.. My friend had bought one, and I used it once or twice... I have to admit that I burned myself the first time I used it, just because I wasn't used to the way it's set up, lol. I don't know much about it's durability, however.. but over all, it's a really nice iron.

I LOVE my Instyler! I purchased one about a year ago for my flat hair and absolutely think it's the best hot styler I've ever had. It gives me volume where I need it, but also allows me to straighten my hair where it usually has waves. My only complaint is that the top worked its way off and I thought I would have to throw the Instyler away, but I was able to follow some instructions I found online to screw the top back on. It works perfectly again. Love, love, love it!!

works great! better than my $200 flat iron. Great Buy!!

I love this product. It's so versatile. I use it to straitghten and curl my hair.

I was given one by my sister but I hate it. I am a black teenager with relaxed hair. This product does nothing good for my hair. It will not get close to the root of your hair like a straightner but it will give you body but at the risk of it still being frizzy. My opinion is that its useless for me and I will not recommend it.

I've been using the Instyler for a couple of weeks now and would not go back to the days I had to use a simple flat iron, I love the shine I get from the instyler, and the bounce... it's not just flat, baked and lifeless. I would say its great for straight to wavy and curly hair but not sure how well it would work on course and kinky hair, I don't think it would do as good as they say on that type of hair, cause I have to go over mine two times to get the desired look, but it's still better for me that flat ironing it.

it does not work at all

I have relaxed hair and I love mine it makes it so much easier to straighten my hair. I don't have that burnt smell that you get with other flat irons.

Wow, I have the same problem as you, my hair never works with me! its always had a mind of its own haha!, i'm sure glad you tryed it out because i'm always worried that products shown on the tv are bond to turn out to the a waste of money. I'm going to give it a try myself :]

I love this product. At first I was sceptical because 1) it was on tv 2) they claimed it was a miracle device and 3) my hair never wants to do anything. Mt in law and i want halfsies on the instlyler which was 2 for $140 dollars. It is great. I now get volume and it works on my thin, fine hair.
