I have this product and have used it on pug. It seemed to take too long to get her nails down to where I wanted them so I don't use it for that. What I do is use regular clippers to cut the nails and then I use this to round them off so they don't catch on anything. It seems to work very well for that.

This works for very small dogs. It is better than regular dog nail clippers I have to say. I have three dogs and the one that is larger it is harder to use on him because you have to put more pressure. If you put too much pressure the file doesnt move. It also takes awhile to file down the nails if they are long. The plus is that it saves you lots of money in the long run than taking them to get their nails trimmed at the groomer. However, it takes more time for you as the owner. It can also be hard to hold the dog while filing their nails. It is an acceptable product and does get the job done.

My cat's claws are prone to breaking and so we bought this...she needs to have someone hold her and another person clip- normally, so we did the same thing with the pedi paw. She reacted the same (not thrilled and wanted to get away) with both types. I still use the pedi paw because it doesn't break her claws. It takes a little longer too because instead of a fast clip- it's a file and just takes awhile to file it down. I use it so her claws don't break.

I use my PediPaw after I clip my dogs nail, it smoothes the nails and allows you to get the nails shorter without cutting to the quick of the nail. I wouldn't recommend it for cutting the nails, it takes too long and the smell is awful.

I bought this for my dog simply because I didn't really know how to clip his nails. I think it was a great idea, but I don't really think it is worth the money. I would say it is worth it if you use it often (don't try to use it on long nails, it will take FOREVER),

It works ok, but it's just too big and bulky. Also, the noise frightens my dog.

The Pedipaws is not for the ocassional groomer. It does work well for filing the edges of clipped nails to keep the sharp edges off. It goes through batteries relativly quickly. It is very loud and my little girl pup does not like it, but my big guy will just lay there likeit is his day at the spa. They are very differnt dogs, so with most things, it is really up to the dog. If you are someone who would be willing to use a Dremel tool on your furry friend, then this is a safe alternative to that, but not as powerful.

Well it's pretty good... it works well on my Miniature Schnauzer but he worries but then calms down.. at first he squirms A LOT but then he calms down.

This product will NOT trim a dog's nails as a clipper would. This is great for keeping a dog's nails short after you clip them. The "safety" plastic piece can come off and will make filing the nails easier. Very loud noise. Keep treats close by when using this product.

Works well for my small dog (who is 20 pounds), not so well for my other dog who is 66 pounds and still growing.

My dog was afraid of it. I tried and tried to use it effectively but couldn't do it. I ended up just taking her to the pet groomer and having them take care of it. I am giving it a 3 rating because it could just be my dog, and not the item. it's a great idea though.

my dog hates it but she dosnt hesitate to much she gets used to it after a while but my cat on the other hand goes crazy i always end up cutting her nails with fingernail clippers .

The product works, but it is really hard to get my dog to sit still and let me use it. The sound, the movement, and the feeling of it scare her.

I use this on both of my dogs nails after I cut and trim them first. The file tends to bog down if you press to hard and you have to move it around due to the file spinning in one direction. It does work, but i think it is better for small dogs nails.

I have been using this product on my dogs for about five years now. I have no trouble out of my dogs when it comes to trimming their claws. Treats and praise is good to us if your furbaby is feeling unsure about having their claws trimmed. It does make a running noise and it vibrates. But it isn't bad. All grinders and sanders do make noises and vibrates. The only downside of this product is the power. It takes a long time to trim my German Shepherd and Pitbull claws. The battery operated motor is to small to take on medium to large breed claws. It works great on my Miniature Dachshunds and my two English Bulldogs.
