I have a 6 mo old golden retriever and so far I think this works well enough. THe motor is a littel weak so patience is required on the part of the filer and the filee. My guy seems to do ok with it. I like that I don't have to use clippers, and I would be too scared to whip out a Dremel tool. I followed the instructiosn to introduce the pedi paws to him and more ofen than not we get the job done. I like to spread it out and do just a little at a time and keep the nails maintained, like you wold your own fingernails.

I bought one for my black lab and actually ended up taking the plastic cover off and used it outside as to not get nail dust all over. It worked so much better. If you can get your pet used to it, it's not all that bad.

While this product isn't for every dog, My toy fox terrrier doesn't mind it at all. She sits calmly on my lap while I give her a pedicure! It's a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it does a great job. I am able to get my dog's nails much shorter than with traditional clippers.

I like this product, I have a rescue pit bull, who is afraid of everything. This product is quiet enough and gentle that he will sit still while he is getting his nails done!!

I love the PediPaw because I'm so nervous about hitting the quick when I clip my mini-poodles black nails. I did the procedure as directed in the instructions to get my dog used to it. I brought it around her off to introduce. I turned it on. Gave her a treat. The next time I turned it on and touched her paw with it to get her used to the vibration. Told her she was a good girl and gave her a treat. I did all this over a couple of days. Then the first time I used it on her nails I gave her a treat after each paw. I have no trouble using the PediPaw on her at all. I love the fact the her nails are smooth and not sharp after!!

We have a lab and the pedi-paws works perfectly fine on her nails. She's still kind of scared of it though.

My dog HATES getting her nails clipped. I was given this as a gift and amazingly my dog has no probs with it. It does take a while to get the nails trimmed, but it is worth it for me so I don't have to stress the dog out when the nail clippers are brought out.

I have a Pit Bull and a bunny and I use this on both of them. It's great because usually I'm not strong enough or brave enough to use clippers. Some downsides are that it's going to take a very long time if you;re trying to take off any significant length, I find it's better to just do it often enough that you're not trying to really shorten them much. My animals don't mind me using this on them, but some animals really never get used to the noise and get scared. I've tried to use it on my aunt's chihuahua and he's afraid of it. Even over time he hasn't gotten any more comfortable with it. It would have been a waste of $20 if she had actually bought it herself. I recommend finding a way to try this product on your pet before purchasing it.

This product is great when used in conjuction with clippers also. We clip our dogs nails first, then use this to smooth the edges and round the ends. It make his nail trim last longer and it gives it a more finished and smoother feel. I highly recommend triming the nails with clippers first, other wise you'lll be grinding away for a long time.

My mother swears by it however one of my dogs seems to be extremely afraid of it & the other just doesn't seem to care - overall it works pretty good when I can get them to sit still long enough

If used as it is intended, this is a good product. If your dogs nails are super long, you need to cut with clippers before using this. Most dogs are not going to love this at first...you have to get them used to it. Once your dog is accustomed to it, then using it to clean up a clip job is great. It smooths out the sharp edges, and is great for when the nail isn't quite long enough to cut but could use a trimming.

Like anything new; one must proceed with this product with caution to prevent fearfulness with your dog. The first time I attempted this with my pup who weighs only 9 lbs; I simply turned it on for a couple of seconds. I did this for a day or so. He was already used to me touching his paws as part of his puppy training so my next step was to hold his paw with the trimmer near it. By the third day;we were ready to trim with no fear. While I do find that it does vibrate the paw and the nailbed(like anything with a motor is apt to do!) I found that by holding the base of his paw where the nail extends from; prevents the vibration. It has worked beautifully for us and he always gets a treat after use. I think pet owners simply need to be patient with their pooch and build them up to being able to tolerate the noise and not fear it. My pup is also not aftraid of vacuum cleaners. Why? Because I was patient introducing him to it!!!! I prefer this product to all of my snippers .

I like this product I use it on my my dog.

It works ok. it takes alot longer to get the job done then to just clip my dogs nails. My dog really hates it.

This is great for a small dog. It takes time to get results, but he prefers this method. Sometimes he even falls asleep while I am holding him & using the PediPaw. My larger dogs nails are not easy to use the PediPaw on.
