I LOVE my Dyson Animal. I got tired of buying a new vacuum every year because with two dogs and a kid, they would just die. I have had my Dyson for five years now, and it still works as good as the day I brought it home. No repairs, no breakage, nothing. We also use it to vacuum our matresses every month. If you have never done this, give it a try. You will be shocked at what comes out of your mattress!! The price is really not that bad when you consider just how well this machine works, how often you have to replace your other vacuums, time and energy spent replacing bags, belts, etc, and how difficult it can be to use older machines.

I have the ball one & We Love It After we got over paying the higher price We are Very Pleased! It's very powerful and cleans better than any vac we've had! I love the easy drop the dirt right into the garbage One click Easy! My son bought this one & it is heavier than mine! The ball one is Super Light and easy to carry around or up the stairs! We were turned off at first by the plastic look of it but it seems to be made very well and so far has been well worth the extra money! :)

Thought my carpets were clean and well vacuumed. Brought this Dyson Animal home, and gasped at the amount of pet hair and dust my old vacuum had left behind. EXTREMELY powerful, not noisy; easy to push. Very heavy to carry up stairs, though. So easy to dump the canister- a simple thumb release. Accesories suck the dust from everywhere. Extension rod a bit unwieldy until the hose loosens up a bit (with use). No dust bags. Would buy it again in a minute- best vaccuum i have ever owned. Great for asthma sufferers.

I have a dog that sheds and the Dyson does pick up hair better than any other vac I've had. I agree that its heavy to carry upstairs. The filter seems to clog more now than it did when I first got it. Not sure why thats happening.

Great for picking up dog hair ? even the short, fly-away hair.

This vacuum works very well in the beginning but as the years start to pass, so does the ability of picking up dog hair and dirt. I was thrilled when it was new; now it's 3 years old and smells like the dog when it runs and doesn't pick up but half of the dirt on the floor. I'm going back to my Kenmore Cannister. It's been rated #1 on Consumer Guide for years; sorry I got caught up in the hype of this vacuum and didn't stay with what I knew worked well

This vacuum is heavy, awkward,large and not user friendly. Not worth the money for me.
