Window shopping online allows you to research finishes, ingredients, prices and reviews of more products than you can find in one brick and mortar. It is true that shades ARE NOT accurate on screen, nor are they true on those in-store swatches. After putting in some time online, I was able to zero in on a short list. With this in hand, my shopping experience was so much easier. Now all I neeed to find was the right shade. Once in the store, color choice may still be iffy either due to bad lighting or packaging. Try the prestige at the counter and wait to decide if the color is acceptable. You may be able to find a better deal online. The good news? Most places accept returns/exchanges. In the end, I found both a drugstore AND a prestige brand that fit my criteria with only 1 return.
