When you eat out with friends, do you split the bill evenly, contribute just what you ate, or take turns paying? Do you use Venmo, PayPal, credit cards, cash or something else? How has this changed since mobile payments became commonplace? Tell us your favorite bill-paying strategies and you'll be entered to win $25 toward your next meal (paid how you want to spend it: Venmo, PayPal, or Amazon gift card!) When out with my friends, I always pay the entire bill. It's just embarrassing when everyone is nit picking on what they owe. I just charge it on my credit card.

We usually split the check evenly if it's a large group. If we're eating with another couple we often take turns paying the bill.

Split the bill evenly- no matter who ate what. If the restaurant does not multiple credit cards Venmo is best.

We generally have each couple pay for their meals/drinks and split the tip. I try to carry cash in multiple denominations to make it easy.

Separate checks, almost always! Super easy and no more arguments, but please tip your waiter or waitress well when you do this. It is more work for them.
