I taught myself to make hand sewn quilts - I sit and watch old Law and Order episodes and sew away...

My first and largest quilt so far was all hand sewn. I am just finishing a Lap Quilt for my Aunt that is made from shirts from my cousin that just recently passed. I have just put together a couple of things so far but would like to get more involved with it. Good luck with your projects.

i sewed a twin size quilt by hand several years ago for my god child in ark.. and very recently hand quilted 3 quilts for a dog rescue in IL .. in small, medium and large.. which the rescue still is using.. i do have a sewing machine but prefer to piece the quilt squares by hand then piece them into a quilt..

My grandmother was a hand quilter.  I don't sew but I did purchase a machine.  My dream is to make a quilt one day.  During this time while having to be at home due to our nations crisis, I've decided to learn how to hand quilt.  This will help me keep my mind on something positive.

Hi! I'm trying to teach myself how to quilt now! Why do you prefer hand quilting over machine quilting?

I've been doing hand quilting and a minimachine makes it easier to do.

I am teaching myself how to sew and quilt too! I wish I could watch TV while I do it,  I'm still in the watching YouTube tutorials as I go. Lol.  I wish we could post picture here... I'd love to share my work and be inspired by you guys.

any chance you have tips on finding cheap fabric (not the quality) but I drop so much $ on supplies, I'd love to figure out thrifty ways to complete my projects.
