Is your home ready for summer? If you love swapping out decor for the seasons like we do, you’re likely already on the hunt for summer finds. To help you transform your space into a summer haven, we put together a list of simple and budget-friendly decorating tips (plus product recommendations!).

Keep reading to learn our five tips for flawless summer decorating.

1. Bring the Outdoors In

Connect with the season by bringing a little bit of the outdoors in. Decorate your space with fresh flowers to add vibrant color and a refreshing scent. For a low-maintenance option, try faux greenery. We love these faux eucalyptus stems from Amazon for decorating vases and tablescapes—they provide a natural look without the upkeep!

2. Layer Natural Textures

Add an organic touch and instant summer vibes to your home with woven baskets, seagrass rugs, and jute placemats. You can add these natural textures to your walls and furniture as well—consider woven wall hangings or furniture made from rattan or bamboo. By layering these elements, you’ll create a space that is both inviting and effortlessly stylish.

3. Lighten Up!

Keep your home breezy and relaxed by swapping out heavy curtains and throws for light, breathable fabrics like linen and cotton. These materials can cool your home while enhancing the airy, summer atmosphere. Sheer curtains let in plenty of natural light, making your space feel open and bright. These linen curtains filter summer sunlight beautifully!

4. Color Your Space with Summer Accents

Summer is the perfect time to experiment with vibrant colors and playful patterns. Brighten your space with throw pillows in sunny citrus hues or add turquoise accents for a coastal feel. Enhance your decor with coffee table books showcasing summer photography or fashion. We love this coffee table book featuring a collection of gorgeous beach photos!

5. Infuse Summery Scents

Sometimes the little things make the biggest difference, and scent can easily level up your space. Candles, diffusers, and essential oils in citrus, lavender, and eucalyptus aromas invigorate your space. For a natural touch, simmer a pot of lemon slices and herbs on the stove for a refreshing, homemade air freshener!

I really don't decorate my home based on time of year. I live in a small condo so not alot of space to store off-season decorations.

I do decorate for summer with lots of light colors and florals. I switch out the wreath on the front door for something bright (currently sunflowers) and hang a new garden flag in the front flower bed.
