At SheSpeaks, we've been inspired by so many women, both those we know personally and those we've never met. Here are just a few of them:

My Mom

The woman who has positively influenced me is my mom, Ying Lo. She has taught me to never doubt my intuition and to go for what I love to do. She is the reason I am 100% my unapologetic self and strive to do more with my life. - Gaonou

J.K. Rowling

Aside from being an amazing author, J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter) faced a lot of rejection and persevered to see her vision come to life. She gives back generously, speaks her mind and holds true to her beliefs. - Stephanie

My Grandmother

She was an amazing woman who grew up in a time with gender role expectations, yet went on to receive her Master's and start various organizations, including women’s organizations. She was incredibly wise and always gave the best advice. - Melissa

My Mom's Group

When my oldest son was born, I met a group of amazing new moms. We started going out to dinner once a month and we haven't stopped for more than twelve years. These women have inspired me to be a better mom and a stronger person. They also taught me how important it is to support other women - and find women who support you. - Susan

Serena Williams

Serena Williams is more than just an incredible tennis player. She also uses her platform for good and has become a great role model for all, but especially girls, sisters and now moms. Her passion for excellence is inspring. I love her new Nike video that says it all.  - Carol

My mother. She went back to school while raising two children, got her degree, her law degree, passed the bar and opened her own business. She has always adapted and changed as she's needed to over time.

My mom and J K Rowling. My mom thankfully never slacked off as a parent like I see some parents do these days. She more than fulfilled her duty.

My daughter inspires me to give 110% everyday. It's not easy being a single mom working full-time and raising a teenager that's grounded with morals and decency in this age of social media. But, I can truly say that my daughter is an amazing kid and she forces me to strive to be better for her. She is my greatest blessing and my biggest influence.

My oldest daughter. She has followed her dream to make realities come true and I have begun (again) to do the same!
