Did you know that nearly 1 in 5 girls have missed school because they can’t afford period protection? It’s not just school they miss. It also means missing out on activities they love, like sports practices, drama club, or student council.
At puberty, girls’ confidence plummets, and having to miss activities because of lack of access to period products only makes this drop in confidence worse. Missing out can limit a girl’s potential and opportunities far beyond puberty.
We’re so excited to support Always & Walmart's Live #LikeAGirl campaign to spread the word about this important issue as they work to #EndPeriodPoverty. Always and Walmart are donating a year’s supply of period products to 50 teams in 50 states, so girls in need don’t have to miss out on the activities they love because they don’t have access to period protection.

I spent years making pads from toilet paper and paper towels, so I know what this feels like. I am going to buy a package of pads every month and donate it to the local food pantry. It's not much, but I hope it will help someone feel more confident.
I'm proud to join this site, and make my voice heard on behalf of those girls who cannot afford to support their periods, not only in America but also in other countries. My family makes panties and homemade pantieliners for just such a cause in other countries. Where young girls get raped as soon as they see that they have a period. And without panties and pads they cannot hide it. So with every pair of panties and liners we can make we save young girls from falling victim to this evil. So my support is here 10 fold!
These are some struggles and battles that are effecting the confidence and self worth of our next generations that we can help lessen. #LikeAGirl.... Join me and support this movement ...SHARE PLS SHARE SHARE SHARE
Thank you for bringing this to light. I've always said that when it comes to these food drives health & beauty items such as pads & deodorants should be collected, too.
Such an inspiring video.
So many girls and women miss many things because of this. Great campaign to educate that poverty isnt just being food insecure but something as simple as having a period can afford products :/
I wasn't aware of this situation! Thank you for the info and more power!
Never knew. Very inspiring young ladies
I had no idea this was a problem until this caught my attention! I was blessed to never have to worry about how my pads/tampons would be paid for, nor did my daughters have to worry. My heart breaks for these girls! Want to help!
This hurts my heart I'm happy someone is doing something
This is great to know because I am a high school teacher. It will make me more aware of the issue.
This is heartbreaking, glad Walmart is taking some action!
I had no idea girls had this issue
This is a great thing you are doing! Happy to contribute.
This is part of the 'Pink Tax' issue whereby women's products cost more than products geared to men. In my opinion, sanitary products should not be taxable at all as they are necessary items for the entire repro4lives of girls and women. Write your congress men and women and force the issue!
