Did you know that nearly 1 in 5 girls have missed school because they can’t afford period protection? It’s not just school they miss. It also means missing out on activities they love, like sports practices, drama club, or student council.

At puberty, girls’ confidence plummets, and having to miss activities because of lack of access to period products only makes this drop in confidence worse. Missing out can limit a girl’s potential and opportunities far beyond puberty.

We’re so excited to support Always & Walmart's Live #LikeAGirl campaign to spread the word about this important issue as they work to #EndPeriodPoverty.  Always and Walmart are donating a year’s supply of period products to 50 teams in 50 states, so girls in need don’t have to miss out on the activities they love because they don’t have access to period protection.

Help spread the word on this important campaign, by sharing the Always Live #LikeAGirl video and entering our giveaway below! One lucky winner will receive a $50 Walmart gift card.

I do not know this first hand because my parents were able to afford period products for me and my sisters. However, my sister was not able to afford this for her and her girls. She was too ashamed to let us know how difficult it was for her and her girls missed school and ruined good clothes. It can often cause women and girls to become isolated due to the shame and not participate in social activities and/or reach out to those who can help.

What a wonderful way to help girls in need. We all take so many things for granted, that we forget about all the people that need help and support.
