Do you watch football every Thanksgiving? Does an elf sit on your shelf before Christmas? Or do you spin a dreidel on Chanukah? We all have our traditions to personalize the holidays and make them feel special.
But some traditions are more common than others. So we want to know... what holiday traditions do you follow each year? Tell us to win a $50 Etsy gift card and a Thanksgiving Thankful Tree Kit!
To get you started, here are some of the non-traditional traditions SheSpeaks staff members celebrate during the holidays:
A Thanksgiving Tree
We do a Thanksgiving Tree every year. Everyone gets leaves and they write what they are thankful for and then we hang them from branches that we collect together. It's very sweet. - Aliza Enter below to win your own Thanksgiving Thankful Tree Kit, plus a $50 Etsy gift card!
Years of Memories
Each kid gets a new ornament for our Christmas tree every year. We buy it from a store that has tons of ornaments - they even write their name and year on it.
My kids are now 21 and 16 so we have tons of them, everything from soccer, gymnastics and baseball to graduations and driving. - Missy
Cooking Experiments
Instead of gifts every night for Chanukah, we spend some nights doing activities with the kids, usually involving food and a giant mess. We've tried making sushi (a sticky-rice mess), fondue (a chocolate mess) and pasta (the biggest mess of all - flour was everywhere!) - Susan
A Christmas Pizza
We make homemade pizza on Christmas Eve, for every year of my life I can remember except one! We even make the crust from scratch and everyone picks their own toppings. Even my teenage son calls it "the best tradition ever." - Carol
New Year's Signature Cocktail for Two
My New Year's Eve tradition is to make a fancy dinner at home and skip the crowds. In addition to getting some decadent food, we try a new signature cocktail, candles & mood music so we can feel like we've transformed our house into a swanky restaurant. - Emily

As soon as we are done with our Thanksgiving dinner, we decorate the Christmas tree! Each child (my youngest 17 now, middle 19 and my oldest 22) take out their ornaments they have made for us throughout the year. To me, these are the prettiest trees...my memories hanging on a tree! Now what will I do when I become an empty nester next year???? :(

The day after Christmas we hold Family Game night. We have been doing this since the oldest of the Grandkids was about 10, even the MomMoms and Pops join in. When the 2 oldest grandsons (twins) turned 19, we thought maybe it was time to stop so we didn't host that year. The following year they asked for it to be reinstated. They are now 24 and they still come & they bring friends. My daughter just turned 21 and already has ordered new games in anticipation.

We absolutely love baking not only for our family, but for friends and family! We have certain events that we try and do every year here in our hometown such as everyone going to the Christmas parade and then back to our house for a fun hot chocolate bar! Love the holidays and everything that they bring!

Now that my kids are older, some of the traditions have stopped. We now make gingerbread people vs houses. As the years come, we'll create newer ones too.

Some of my favorite holiday traditions are to bake goodies for the holidays and my family has a version of Santa Claus that comes on Christmas Eve Night and he would call our names out to give us gifts! I also love being able to spend time with friends and family during the holidays!!

My favorite holiday tradition is our movie night the Friday after Thanksgiving. We pop a bunch of popcorn and cuddle together in the living room to watch Christmas movies.

I would buy pajamas every year for the kids and sign them from our cat. Although our kitty passed away the kids talk about the tradition every year and I've continued because they love it.

Our family holiday tradition is going and getting a fresh cut Christmas tree a few days before thanksgiving. We decorate and listen to Christmas music while baking holiday goodies. With this we buy new ornaments each year.
