My holiday tips are to make sure that you carve out rest time for yourself during any big plans you have. Literally map out your holidays by day and make sure you're getting enough exercise, sleep, and family time in. It will keep you from some irritability and on your game through the long 3 months!

Mine with my anxiety issues is to remember that although the holidays are about being together and celebrating with eachother, is to remember to make a few moments for myself! I treat myself to quiet, cocoa, or a favorite treat that is just for me. Time to recollect and reflect on our own minds and peace and needs is also so important to make the rest of the holiday flow stress free...or well...as stressless as possible.

My best tip is to make it pot luck style and get the main dish ordered out. Reduce the work load on the cooking part and enjoy the company of your friends and family!

My holiday survival tip is to set aside at least one day for yourself to do absolutely nothing- whatever your version of "nothing" is, whether it be sleeping or watching tv, just as long as you are not cleaning or doing the less-fun elements that come along with the holidays.

In my house during the holidays we always have some sort of pasta dish as our family is from italy. We make our own homemade raviolis and lasagna from scratch, noodles, our secret family recipe for meat sauce and the cheese filling for the raviolis and lasagna. The trick to avoiding stress is to make them all ahead of time. This thanksgiving my dad will be making his sauce and lasagna sometime in the first week of november, and then we freeze everhthing once made and heat it up on the stove and in the oven when we need it :) For the raviolis we ziplock freezer bag them and then we have a giant pot with a strainer that we use for easy cooking and straining when we want to eat raviolis. (We usually make several hundred at a time so theres multiple meals from it) And with pie, we get a HUGE yummy pumpkin pie from costco for 6 bucks, get a frozen apple pie from the store and then we make our own banana cream pie (which is super simple and can be done in less than half an hour)

Pre-prep as much as you can so that you can enjoy your time with family and friends. Also, don't be afraid to accept their help when they offer. Some of my favorite conversations have taken place while doing dishes with my grandmother and aunts!

For me, I try to make the most out of being with family by asking them how they met their spouses or what they did for fun when they were younger.

Holiday Survival, this is my mantra, Not to worry about the small things, keep it simple. Too often we fret about small things, ones actually nobody notices. And if they do notice and critical of what you make, your decor, do you want those people around you? No. Too often we become absorbed in making others happy. Do what makes you happy. Make your favorite meal. Decorate your style. Eat, if you are fussy, fall is here, turn back the scales 10 pounds. And eat and enjoy! Laugh as often as possible, stay away from the Drama Llamas. Dance, sing, but most of all, enjoy those moments.

My holiday survival tips are: 1) It's okay to say no (you can only go to so many holiday parties)! 2) Don't be afraid to ask for help. 3) When you are having a party or get-together, set the table, as well as prep everything you can 1-2 days in advance, so you don't have as much to do the day of. I usually prep all the veggies/fruit in advance. 4) Ask guests to bring side dishes. Andysavi.Mom@gmail.com
