Superheroes! Futuristic worlds! Remarkable new Johnny Depp eye makeup! Summer is like Christmas for movie-geeks as the season of special-effects, reboots, sequels, and spin-offs make their way to the big screen. But which ones should you invest in? Which silver screens should you swap your sunscreen for? Let’s grab a cuppa and take a look at a few of this year’s most promising summertime blockbusters.

To add to the fun - SheSpeaks is giving away $30 Movie Gift Cards to five lucky winners!  To enter, just comment below by telling us which movie you are most excited about seeing this summer!  Maybe it is one of these:

Man of Steel, opening June 14th, brings the son of Krypton back into our lives. A star we've never heard of, Henry Cavill, has some pretty big red boots to fill reprieving the role of beloved Christopher Reeve as Superman, someone who has come to help Earth because, as his father Jor-El said "they're a great people Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you, my only son." We can hardly wait!  Get to the ticket line early.

Danica Patrick 2Zombies are just so big these days, aren't they? If you haven't been able to catch "The Walking Dead" on cable, in World War Z you'll see them match up with Brad Pitt, who plays a former U.N. "hot zone" specialist called back to duty to track down the virus that is gradually turning the world into the apocalypse. And with all that hair from the Chanel ad he has, the walking-dead may have finally met their match! We are so ready - opens on June 21st!

Danica Patrick 2Just in time for July 4th comes The Lone Ranger, a popular TV hero from the olden times, pairing Armie Hammer as a lawyer-turned-Texas-Ranger, with a mysterious Native American named Tonto (Johnny Depp) to take down an evil railroad tycoon (Tom Wilkinson) in the Old West. Even if it's not the biggest train sequence in the history of cinema, with a sidekick as charismatic as Johnny, who cares? Looks like riotous fun!

Danica Patrick 2After just having been rejected for his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting the President (Jamie Foxx), Capitol Policeman John Cale wants to break the news softly to his little girl, so he takes her on a tour of the White House just as it is overtaken by heavily armed paramilitary invaders. And if there is anyone you want to be there, as time runs out to save the President, the Country, and his little girl - it is Channing Tatum. White House Down opens in theaters on June 28th.

Colleen LopezIn the not-so-distant future of 2154, the wealthy live on an orbiting space station, Elysium, governed by Jodie Foster, while the rest of humanity suffers in squalor and fear on a ruined planet Earth. Matt Damon plays an Earth worker who has to break into Elysium, to find medical care and a cure for his radiation illness. The thrill ride (along with social commentary) begins August 9th.

I'd love to have a date night with my husband to see White House Down. A little comedy, a lot of action and some eye candy that goes by the name of Channing Tatum. Yes, please! Lol

I can't wait to see Lone Ranger. Johnny Depp is such a fantastic actor and Armie Hammer is gorgeous. Too bad he hides his face behind the mask.

Man of Steel, of course! Already saw IronMan 3 (terrific), StarTrek (also terrific), and Fast & Furious 6 (husbands choice, but liked it also). Besides Man of Steel, want to see Lone Ranger, world War Z, Elysium and White House Down.

I am looking forward to World War Z! The book is interesting, so I am excited to see what they do with the movie. I haven't seen Star Trek Into the Darkness yet, but I've been hearing great reviews and I really really want to see this one as well.

I'm a huge comic book nerd, so I'm most excited to take my son to see the new Man of Steel movie. I remember going to see the original Superman movies w/ my dad & can't wait to see how my son reacts to this new version.
