Description: This is a sweet, spicy, crisp bacon recipe. If you've never tried a recipe for oven-cooked bacon, start with this one!
Ingredients:
1 lb
Lean Sliced Bacon
1 tsp.
Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
2 tsp.
Brown Sugar
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400 F. Line a pan with sides, such as a cookie sheet, with parchment paper.
Arrange bacon slices on the parchment paper. Sprinkle with pepper and brown sugar. If you prefer, omit the pepper and brown sugar.
Bake about 10 minutes. Lots of fat will collect during this time, so drain that now. (I temporarily transfer the bacon slices to paper towels, throw out the entire parchment paper, and reline the pan with fresh parchment at this stage.)
Return bacon to oven and bake a few minutes more, until it has reached your desired level of crispness.
Remove from oven and immediate transfer bacon slices onto paper towels.
These delicious treats can be eaten as finger-food. I've served them at many brunches and as appetizers for other occasions. They also freeze well.
