Makes: 6 servings
Description: Great for picnics or BBQs as a side dish - this slaw mixes in a nice crunch and is easy to make.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup
Canola oil
2 Tbsp
Sugar
2 Tbsp
Cider vinegar
1 Package
Ramen noodles
1 handful
Sunflower seeds, shelled, toasted and salted
1 bag
Broccoli or asian slaw (from packaged salad section)
1 handful
Almonds, slivered
Instructions: Heat the oil, sugar, vinegar and spice packet from the Ramen noodles to boiling. Crush the Ramen noodles and add to the boiling mixture. Turn off the heat and let sit for 1 minute. In a bowl combine: broccoli slaw, sunflower seeds, and almonds. Stir in the oil mixture and refrigerate for an hour or more.
This is a really great recipe! Everybody enjoyed it!
Love the addition of the rawmen noodles. It really adds a crunch! I put a tablespoon of butter in a pan and toasted the sunflower seeds and almonds before adding to the recipe. It really brought out the flavor.
