Mackenzie Phillips Opens Up On Oprah
Phillips' new book "High On Arrival" describes a 10 year "consensual" incestuous relationship she had with her father that followed the rape. Friends and family of Mackenzie Phillips have responded to her recent announcement on both sides of the fence, some stand behind her and feel she is telling the truth while others claim these are false allegations she is making about John Phillips.

A Question Of Gender
Semenya is now going through further gender tests before officials decide if they should strip her of her medals and her right to run as a woman. The official final results have not yet been revealed, but an article from theAFP quotes Chuene responding to questions about the pending gender tests. Chuene says, "No one has seen the reports. We have learnt in the media that she is a hermaphrodite."

Is It Your Legal Right To 'Shoot The Bird' In Public?
According to American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) legal director Witold Walczak, "The law is clear that people have the constitutional right to use profanity, especially when it comes to government officials, because that is a form of political speech. But despite that, we have police officers regularly misapplying the law to punish people who offend them - that's really what it comes down to."

Is Walking To School A Thing Of The Past?
One mother, Lori Pierce, from Columbus, Miss. allowed her eager 10-year-old son to walk to a nearby soccer practice. Several people who saw the boy walking reportedly called 911 before a police officer arrived and drove the boy the rest of the way to his practice. Pierce was later reprimanded by the officer for allowing her son to walk alone.

Plus-Sized Model Bares All
People found Miller's photo to be a refreshing change from the norm and rejoiced that they could finally relate to a model's figure. Lizzie Miller discussed her decision to pose nude for the magazine. Miller said, "I remember when I was younger, looking through magazines, and I would feel so out of place and so self-conscious because I didn't see anyone who looked like me."

Missing Child Comes Home
More reports are now coming out about how this nightmare could have ended earlier. Three years ago in 2006 someone called 911 to tip off the police that there was a mysterious woman and two children living in tents in Garrido's backyard. When an officer went to check it out, he only spoke with Garrido, a registered sex offender, briefly in his front yard and did not investigate the rest of the property leaving Dugard and her daughters to endure three more years of captivity.

Vaccinating The Nation
With pregnant women and young children first in line to get the swine flu shot, some people are left worrying about the safety of the new vaccine and whether it has been tested long enough to get effective results. A recent Reuters article discusses some of the concerns people have about the new vaccine.
