My nightly routine takes about 15 min, it's the most important since it sets the tone for a good nights sleep. My morning routine is frustrating, what you did in your twenties just doesn't work as you get older. And tends to take a bit more time and attention to detail. I'm lucky I have really good skin. But the past 2 years or so I've had a tough time finding products (cleansing, moisturizing, SPF, and makeup) that works well together. Midafternoon I need a touch up, things start to look "tired, faded, simply break down, or wear off." Once again it's frustrating. I like to look alive, healthy, refreshed, glow and vacationed.

I am 51 and have relatively good skin with no wrinkles. I don't need to spend a great deal of time on it, fortunately. The basis of it relies on a good moisturizer at night after washing my face and then after showering in the morning. I use a face scrub in the shower to exfoliate. Always, always, always moisturize! I use little makeup, which consists of an SPF foundation and a little blush and eyeliner. Add a bit of lipstick and I'm good to go. I am not naive enough to believe that as I get older this will still hold true. I am sure that as my skin ages, it will take a bit more time and care to maintain. The only trouble that I seem to have now is finding a moisturizer that is not too greasy.

My skincare routine is about 10 minutes. I use steam to clean my pores and then I put a nightly moisturizer on.

At 38, I am at a crossroads with my skincare. Acne has reared its ugly head, elasticity is leaving, and fine lines are beginning to appear around my mouth and eyes. Most of the products on the market are geared toward "young" skin or that which needs "rejuvenating." Which am I? I have no clue. I am not happy with my current routine or results. Please help! My skincare is less than 5 minutes in the morning and night. In the AM, I use an exfoliant cleanser then eye cream and moisterizer with SPF. In the PM, I use an all in one cleaser to remove my makeup and clean followed by eye cream. I consider "skincare' my foundation. Makeup doesn't look good on "bad skin" that contains breakouts. I look for ingredients that are non-irritating to my sensitive skin and that are oil-free. I'd love a "system" that would be easy to follow and produce results.

I am 53 and my skin is in pretty good shape, a few wrinkles here and there but not bad. Expression lines forehead, and when I smile (which is always) you see them under my eyes. I use CeraVe hydrating cleanser and CeraVe moisturizing lotion (not greasy at all) on top of that I use Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion and Olay eye transforming cream. This all takes less than 10 minutes. In the mornings I follow that with my Clinique foundation. To be honest the cleanser cleans great but if the other stuff makes a different , you just hope it does "Hope in a bottle".

I am 37 and have never fallen into a great skincare routine. Most nights I fall asleep with my makeup on, a major faux pas but it's because I'm so exhausted. In the morning, which begins at 4:45 am, I remove my eye makeup and take my shower. In the shower, I exfoliate and cleanse. After I get out of the shower, I apply Este Lauder moisturizer and then my makeup. The biggest problem is that I'm getting older, my pores are getting larger, I still have acne and my make-up never stays on during the day. I wish there was a regimine that would help solve these problems and was easy to follow.

I don't know that I'd call my makeup/skincare regime compelling. It needs to be quick and convenient. I often alter the product I use if I find a better one that can multitask. I am a busy mom and many mornings may only have 5 minutes to throw on basic makeup and run some quick gel through my hair. When I can stay awake long enough, I try to remember to take it off at night. I do love the new long lasting lipstick/gloss combo's, the Nic sticks (although they still need to work on that streak factor), and other specialty speed items that are hitting the shelves.

In the morning I use a cleaner on my face and then put my head under a towel with hot wter. I then splash my face with cold water becasue I like to make sure my pores are clean. That is a concern of mine because I have learge pores and feel very self conscious about this. I ten use mmolton brown rose was cleaner with the cloth provided to get my skin nice and smooth. I then apply eye cream for my crows feet and a moisturizer on the rest of my face that is anti aging. At night I do the same routine after using a makeup remover. I will do whatever it takes to try to keep my face looking young.

I am 41 and it seems that my skin has become more oily than it ever was. I have tried different products and nothing seems to work. There are so many products out there, but what is made for someone my age that really works. I also have the problem with acne and my eyeliner seems to melt.
littlestar89 says: October 30, 2009 09:07 PM
Response to lswhite: The exfoliating cleanser you are using is ripping little tears in your skin which allow bacteria to creep in and causes the acne to persist and to spread. I used to have this problem (used apricot scrub, etc. for years) and my dermatologist said to stay the heck away from scrubs. She said to use a moisturizer with a mild acid to chemically remove the dead skin instead. I use what she recommended -- Alpha Hyrox -- it's in a red box and you can get it at Ulta for about $12. It lasts for a long time and there are two versions, one with SPF and one without for nighttime use. Since I started using it several years ago my skin has cleared up dramatically and never gives me any problems now. Hope this helps!

My nightly routine takes me about 20 minutes. I wipe my eye makeup w/neutragena eye makeup remover in pads. Then I use Oil of Olay face wash to remove my all over face makeup. When I am done w/that I use St. Ives apricot scrub to scrub my face. After scrubbing I use Witch hazel as a toner. My night cream is Roc night rejunerate cream. I use Estau Lauder eye cream and when my face cream is on I spritz my face w/a mixture of water and rose water glycerin. For winter days that helps maintain moisture on my skin and it makes it feel softer in the morning! Hope this was useful! Thanks

In addition to my morning routine, I use Luxiva AHA Intensive complex by Merle Norman twice a week. My problem is I have just started menopause and my skin is going to change more this year than any. I have been looking at the Resurgence brand that Joan London is a spokes person for that is suppose to be for Hormonally aging skin and I have read a few of Dr. Perricone books and I am also looking at his line of products. If your face and hair look good you just feel better.

I'm pregnant with our second child. So far my skin has been easy to maintain despite the occasional pimple here and there. I am one that always uses a foundation with SPF 15 daily. Prior to that I cleanse my skin with soap and water, put on a moisturizer, and then concealer followed by foundation. My night routine consist of washing my face with soap and water and then applying a night cream. I use a department store brand, kind of pricey, however I have found something that I believe works, and don't really want to deviate. Although I am looking into some organic products. Would eventually like to make that move.

I will soon be 51 and I can't believe how much my skin has changed. I've never really been one to lay in the sun but I use to be outdoors alot. I always used sunscreen because I am very fair complected. I battled with oily skin most of my life and still do but the areas in my check bones get so dry and there are alot of fines lines. I try to use all natural products and do not use soap on my face. I will exfoliate once a day in the morning and use witch hazel as my toner. I use a non oil based moisturizer. I usually just wear a little blush and powder. Anything heavier makes me break out. I want to be able to grow old gracfully and need a great product to help me to do that.

I'm a nurse, my working day can be anywhere from 8 hours to 20 hours & my week can be anywhere from 5 days to 7 days. I would love to have a daily routine but time is usually limited and I do what I can when I can. In the morning I use a facial cleaning product, toner and a moisturizer with SPF 15. I do like to use an eye product if I have the time. Nighttime it depends on how tired I am and how much time I have. I use a facial cleaning product, toner and a nighttime moisturizer. I use two or three different moisturizers in layers..........which I know ends up clogging my pores, but each one for the unique ingredient it has. I'm hoping to get the benefits from each. I use an eye product for fine lines and puffiness. I try to do a mask once a week and use acne spot treatments when necessary. I'm 40, I have a few fine lines & wrinkles with a breakout now & then. I tend to try everything that comes out on the market but am not getting the results I want!
cvarano says: November 01, 2009 10:30 AM
I use very gentle skin care products for the most part. My main problem is that I have areas that are oily but other areas can get very dry so using moisturizer can be tricky because it usually will lead to breakouts. In order to keep my skin not so dry I simply rinse with water in the morning and cleanse with a mild cleanser at night, like phisoderm. If my skin seems dry, which is usually all winter, I will moisturize those areas with a light oil-free moisturizer. The make-up I use, estee lauder enlighten, also acts as a moisturizer and has spf. Lately, though I have been sticking to my routine, I have been breaking out more than usual. I wish I could keep my face moisturized, because I know that's good for my skin and prevents fine lines and wrinkles to a degree, without having these breakouts.

I have such a difficult time developing a rouine and sticking to it so anytime a company come out with a product with less steps or guaranteed faster results I am all for it. I really like the acne free system and pro active but I am unsuccessful with theszes because of my lazy attitude. I am also a huge fan of 2 in 1 shampoos and fast dry polish for nails.

I am 59 going on 60. The new 40, right? Ha! I am up and out the door early each morning , so my skin care regiment usually goes something like this: Wash face with a warm wash cloth (It serves as a great mild exfoliator) and a mild cleanser (Dove and Jergens are good) Then Loreal age perfect, Smooth-365 peptide serum, and Olay eye gel. Then comes the makeup. This all takes about 10-15 minutes while I am drinking my coffee. At night, I like to use estee Lauder creme cleanser. I lather it on and use a warm wash cloth to remove. Baby oil does the trick for eye make up. I have recently used two different products for eyes and face at night. Eyliplex-2 nighttime for the eyes and Nutrimin-C Recover Night Creme. Am I satisfied? Never! I would love a day creme that make up can go over smoothly without emphasizing small wrinkles. Foundation, no matter how light, always seems to do that. I want something for my age group that isn't going to break the bank!

I am 42 and have a bad habit of falling asleep with what's left of my make-up. I know it's bad, but by the time I hit the end of the day I am wiped out. I have tried the cleansing cloths, but broke out in a rash around my eyes. I participated in the Olay regenerist sample and have become addicted to it. I use the night cream on my eyes and forehead where wrinkles are forming and the day cream on my cheeks and chin and neck. I exfoliate and clean my skin with Cetaphil in the shower every morning and weekly use a micro derm abrasion/chemical peel kit by Olay . I would like to use something very easy like the cleansing cloths if I could find something that works for the sensitive skin around my eyes. Other than that I love my products. Total time spent-15+/- minutes.

I'm 36 and I also have a horrible habit of going to bed w/o removing my makeup! I have combo skin and live at a high elevation which only amplifies my skins problems. I was daily with my clarisonic face washer, this has changed my skin soooo much. It takes away the need to exfoliate at often and my pores have shrunk dramatically. I really need to find the perfect cleanser and lightweight lotion though. I am currently using Arbonne, which is pretty good but way too many step. I love organic products. I would really like to find a product that helps with that annoying dry skin on the tip of my nose and the oil around it!

At night, I wash my face with a cleaner for normal-to-dry skin, then use a toner, and, if I'm not too tired, a night time moisturizer and/or serum. I also apply lip balm. In the morning, I just splash my face in the shower - I don't wash it again. I use a toner, moisturizer/sunscreen and lip balm. I'm always looking for new products to try, because my skin is ok, but not great. My cheeks are dry, and I have some fine lines, but by mid-day, my forehead and nose are shiny and oily feeling. I can't seem to find something that can handle both correctly.

I once read that French women spend a lot of time, money, and energy on skincare but don't tend towards plastic surgery. This is pretty much my guiding principle -- take great care of my skin today so I don't need a face lift later in life. I spend about 40 minutes a day on my skin. I wash my face every AM with a mild cleanser (Cetaphil), followed by a retinol cream (Green Cream) everywhere but around my eyes, which are sensitive. I use an eye cream (Clinique) and foundation with SPF (L'Oreal) every day. At night I wash my face, apply retinol cream, and use a night serum (Estee Lauder) around my nose and eyes. I'm pretty happy with my routine--my hyperpigmentation has diminished and my skin generally behaves. Using at least one product with an SPF all over is important to me. I do wish I could use fewer products -- I like the benefits of sunblock, anti-agers and moisturizers, but I worry that layering interferes with the products' efficacy.

My routine takes about 10 minutes twice daily. I use Oil of Olay Total Effects cleanser and follow up with letting my face air dry and then apply Total Effects daily moisturizer. I do the same in the evening before bed. I have fairly sensitive skin and worry using different products that could break my face out. I like products that are light, absorb quickly and leave my skin feeling fresh and glowing. I sometimes use Olay eye cream. I hardly ever wear makeup-so skincare is fairly simple for me.

My skin care is very important to me. My skin care routine typically takes me about 15 minutes during the morning and about the same at night. I am very pleased with my progress and results. I am currently using 5 products which include Ponds cold cream, Olay Regenerist daily serum, Olay Prox wrinkle smoothing cream and Makari night treatment cream. Moisturizing, and hydrating substance is very relevant in the products that I choose.

Growing up I had excellent skin. And up until about a year ago it stayed that way. Now I am noticing lines and spots that weren't always there... my skin doens't seem as tight as it used to be... and I've started to get blackheads and blemishes when my face has always been clear! So I have been trying different thing... I tried Oil of Olay first without much of a difference, i've tried cheap things such as neutrogena blackhead scrub and some avon pads. Now I am currently trying a skin system from Mary Kay. It includes a face wash then scrub, rejuvenator and face lotion. And that also doens't seem to be making a difference. Please help!

I wish they had one do-it-all product! I have bought and used so many different products but I feel they dont work. I am 35 and still dealing with acne on top of fine lines and seeing loss of elasticity as well. I have used so many cleansers, neutrogena, loreal, biore, etc. I have not found a great cleanser. I use moisturizer, but its hard to find one that doesnt make my face feel like an oil slick 15 minutes after I use it. I notice that all the ones with SPF are thick and just lay on my skin. Its gross. I use the Garnier eye roller in the morning and 100% Pure Eye Cream, and mineral foundation- cant use liquid because I feel like my face is melting off. Still, my makeup slides off my face at about 12-1PM every day. I also feel like my skin is dull and needs a pick me up! I want to look healthy! I am very fair and bronzers make me look orange. I just want something thats easy and know will work!

My routine is quick and easy. It only takes about 5 minutes twice a day. In the morning, I wash, moisturize, apply sunscreen, apply some mineral foundation. At night, I was and apply night cream. I found that my face has shown improvement just by switching to a mineral makeup so my routine time was cut in half.

I am 31 and have have problem skin since adolescence, varying in degree from cystic acne to more "normal" type of breakouts. I am diligent about skincare and have tried numerous products. I have used a three-step product called Acne Free for years with unreliable results. I have recently switched to a Murad Clarifying Cleanser (use twice daily) with biweekly Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser. I always use Cetaphil lotion over top. So far, the jury is out on this new routine. My cleansing/moisturing routine typically takes about 10 minutes both morning and evening.

I also apply Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizer to my face prior to using my foundation. It is very lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. I am so upset that Prescriptives is going out of business. I have not found a comparable foundation to their Virtual Skin. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I'm just a few months away from 30 and still am getting the occasional breakouts. However, I am also seeing lines and wrinkles developing around my eyes and forehead plus enlarged pores! My skincare routine takes about 10 minutes in the mornin and night...Purpose cleanser, toner (at night), eye cream is a must (although as it's getting colder out I'm finding that my Kheils eye cream is just not cutting it), and I finish with Neutrogena Lite Night Cream. During the day I always wear a tinted moisturizer with SPF. With all that said, I'm still searching for a great eye cream, moisturizer or whatever it may be to combat my confused skin that's making it's way out of it's 20's and seeing lines as I near 30...

I am frustrated! My skin care regimen is basic: wash with mild soap, use a moisturizer and hope and pray that today will be a "good" beauty day! My 50s are quite different than my 40s: wildly unpredictable, discoloration and signs of aging more noticeable...help! I need a good, reliable, easy and affordable skin care line that suits my age and my skin's changing needs! Because I adhere to great physical fitness and diet, it is the addition of a great skin care line that will help me go from having an "ok" day to an "outstanding one!I I work with women as a personal life coach and find that we talk about skin/beauty quite often - great skin allows a woman to have more confidence and therefore more joy and productivity in her life! I am 71 plus. I have been a faithful Strivectin user since I saw the first ad in a Magazine in my hair salon. I felt I got immediate results.I am currently using the sculpting cream??? We'll see! My routine is pretty faithful. I cleanse with oil (now grapeseed instead of olive)and warm water nightly. Follow with Strivecton Slulpting/ Hydroderm/and Strivecton SD finish with any moisturizer. AM shower (maybe use soap 6 times a year if haven't removed mascara the night before. As of March of this year I only use NeuLash and mascara. No longer need or use eyeliner (and there comes an age that you look more youthful without). Must tell you that most would say that I look maybe 60ish? I play golf every day that I can. My makeup for the last 20 years is Total Block 60 SPF (FALLENE). Coverage without ever looking heavy. My forearms need help. Used to stay lili-white with Bain de Soliel 30. Where did they go?

I am 37 years old and feel like i have pretty nice skin - just hope it stays that way!!!! I have a very simple routine....I use Oil of Oly daily facials every single day. I love them. I also use a morning and night moisterizer that contains SPF. I was just turned onto Bare Minerals makeup last year and feel like this is much better for my skin than other types of makeups. I don't get facials and I just try to stay out of the sun. I am at the age where some of my friends are getting wrinkles and I don't want them!

I just turned 37 this past October but everyone thinks I look like I am in my twenties. I do not do anything special. I like to use Dove Facial Cleansing Cloths before bed. I like them better than the others because they are more "rough" and feel like they actually clean deep. Some others feel like they just clean the surface but do not really get down in the skin. I also alternate and sometimes use St. Ives Apricot Facial Scrub before bed and/or in the morning shower. It gives you a fresh clean feel and smells great! Other than that, I stick with just a regular hydrating non - scented lotion before bed and after I wash my face in the morning before applying makeup. Nothing special or expensive. I like to keep it natural and fresh.

My morning routine is to wash my face with warm water. I use inexpensive moisturizers. I don't use foundation, but do have to use concealer (covergirl) under my eyes. Trying to find something for those wrinkles that are starting to show, beside my eyes and around my mouth(I'm 55 yrs old). At night I use baby oil to remove eye make up and St Ives Cleanser & scrub and moisturizer. It takes me about 10 min. in the morning and another 10 at night.

I am 36 and consider my skin to be a priority and "invest" in it accordingly with time, effort and expense to help maintain my skin's health and condition. I have been using a cleanser, a toner pad, serum, eye cream, day cream and night cream - wow, that quite a bit huh? I did a quick tally today and this comes to about $250+ for a 3 month supply. I also use concealer and make-up 5+ days week.

I am 39 years old with have oily skin & occasional breakouts. I used to go to the dermatologist & get expensive prescriptions for my acne, but for the past couple of years I have been using Proactiv with success. As for my daily skincare routine, I use Proactiv cleanser in the shower, followed up (when I remember & have the time) by Proactiv toner & refining lotion. Before bed, Proactiv cleanser again. I have noticed some fine lines around my eyes in recent years, so I am looking for a really good moisturizer to combat this.
